| It's really been a struggle the past few days. Here we are in the midst of a Canadian winter and the past couple of days have been springlike to say the least. Today is January 28th and it has hit 12 deg. C (Mid 50's) and is beautifully sunny in Toronto. During the past 2 days I've seen about a dozen bikes on the street, this is totally abnormal for us, since this time of year there should be about 2+ ft. of snow on the ground and about 20 below freezing. The dilemma is what to do; is it worth taking the bike out of storage for what may end up being a 1-2 hour ride since there is alway a call for freezing rain and other crappy weather. On one hand I envy and even drive near them just to get a feel of riding. Sitting at a light today I saw 3 motorcycles withing a span of 2 minutes, this made me scream out "no not again" to myself. I was almost convinced to go downstairs, bring up the battery, reinstall all the bits and pieces back and get her out on the road. However the more I deliberated it, I convinced myself that this must be just a cruel form of torture and I should not succumb to temptation. I hope when I complete this post I will feel better about my decision of not bringing my bike out today. This weather is real torture, it will still snow, won't it? |

| M-J.Com Master Poster ![]() | Hi my name is Paul and it has been 77 days since IV last rode my bike. I even stooped to new lows. I rented a motor scooter in Aruba for a quick fix and enjoyed it. I’m having the same problem over here man. The weather here is so great for this time of year. I thought to myself even today about a putting her back together for a quick ride. Sometimes I have to remind myself, “Mother Natures a b^tch” and would stab me in the @ss the moment I did. (Much like when the car gets washed). My advice, do what makes you happy and drive careful. TEMPTING THOUGH!!!!!! Last edited by Rockhead; 01-28-2006 at 08:13 PM. |

| In the past 41 days, we have had 39 days of rain. Rained heavy last night, went out there was a little sun, an hour later it was raining. I think we should export this liquid rain to Florida. ps; Trapper where is that sunshine you said you were sending. |

| Ya ELGOLD, this canadian weather is great, since I never really put up my bike, I just put stabil in the fuel and take the battery out, so again today (3 weeks in a row now) I was able to take it out for a spin. I love it. Makes winter seem shorter.

| Id gladly move to BC. ive been trying to plan a way to move my career up to the PacNW for years. The people are better and you can always dress for rain. It makes marginally nice days that much more enjoyable.

| yes, you can dress for the rain - exactly what i did when i rode my bike home just after buying it. i don't know why anyone would WANT to ride in the rain!! it's terrible.. constantly putting the visor up/down, the dirt on the road, puddles, threat of hydroplaning the list goes on!! at least when the weather get nicer here, the day is longer so we can ride until 10 pm. |

| This rain is not bad if you get a few nice days in between. There is nothing better that a clear day, after a few days rain. The air is fresh, every thing is green. The Fraser Valley is awesome to ride the back roads, past the farms, all the way up to Bridal falls area. Some times no one else on the road. It is why we ride. | U.B's LoveChild ![]() | Dude, I've been trying to ride here and there all winter long and as you can see on another thread... Mother nature just caught up with me and slapped my hand. (Bike fell over during some bad gusts of wind.) I've since then put her in storage for the rest of the winter season. Soon... Soon... TT

| The sun has come out. Thanks Trapper. Really tempted to take the bike out of storage. Have been looking at another helmet and bling. So I refrained from placing temption in front of me and did not attend the Motorcycle Show. I knew I would be broke and in hock. I have even stopped reading Zuki Dudes posts. I was sure glad he went the sportbike route. The sun is getting brighter, BLING, BIKE, BLING!!!! |

| I had a nice little 40 mile warm up ride yesterday - just to burn any condensation out of the crankcase.

| Muscle Biker ![]() | They were just talking on the radio about this ... there is a big concern that the fishes in local rivers may not survive the winter. We've had very little rain (Lake Constance and most rivers are at historic low levels), and it has been very cold (barely cracking the 30°F mark since mid January), so there is concern that some rivers or lakes could freeze solid. (Usually, lakes will have a few inches of ice covering them, but the water below remains liquid). The weather report for the next 5 days is the same as the past few days ... cold (about 20°F over night, and beween 30° and 34° in the afternoon), and foggy. Blah. What we NEED is some rain (to wash away the snow and salt, and raise the groundwater levels) and higher temperatures. Then in March, the sun should come out and the afternoon temperatures should get into the low 60s. Then I can take the GSX out of the garage and start riding again!
