Talking What's YOUR story ???

Been around for a couple of weeks now, learning a thing or two about mod's n such. Enjoying reading the technical threads as well as the lighter side. Because the net is so 2 dimensional, we have to rely on smiley's etc. to convey additional info. So I'll throw this out you. Many usernames are simply that...names...easy to figure out. Many others are numbers or witty little quips. What's the story behind YOUR username? Just another way to get to know a little more about each other. Despite rumours, I'm NOT a geography buff. My nickname was given to me by my good ol' union boys that I've worked with for the last 16 yrs. Been known to lift a weight or two...68 as you probably guessed...year of birth. What's YOUR story ??

my bad. Here I thought I was being original...instead trying to reinvent the wheel. Recently joined another forum but don't go back there much...guess I'll get to reading then, thanks for the link.

For those of us who are new around here will quickly come to realize that if anything is to be said, it already has.

Been through them all and feel like a veil has been lifted and the world makes much more sense ...I can see why you flagged me so quick. That thread generated alot of great replies. I imagine forum space is a premium these days. Thanks again

Good try bud. I'm resigned to the fact that you have one shot in a million of doing something new on the 'net. The other 999,999 have been done.

I grew up in South Louisiana with Bayou Lafourche about 150 yards from my front door. I used to catch and eat all the good stuff like alligator, frog legs, shrimp, crab, ect..........

Now I live in Colorado ..............

That is how I got Colorado Cajun.

I just looked at those two lists and noticed I did not post in either one of them.

I think mine is simple enough though.

Well, let's mix it up a bit then ... how about username history, as in the names you use not just on this forum, but others and in the past. Describe them as well ...

Neonite: Back in the day, when I owned a Dodge Neon back in 95 which was later converted to a full blown drag car (thus, my past business of fabricating race cars). The term was a derivative of neon lighting and night time.

Darkhorse: For my 98 Cobra ... black in color and afterall, it was a steed!

Scotty-2-Forty: My last high performance car being a 500hp turbo 96 Nissan 240SX. My nickname in the race biz was Scotty Too Hotty ... it just came together somehow.

4sphed: Same car (240), different forum. Abbreviated for "force fed" as in forced induction (turbo).

Deadloose: My current car being an 01 Lincoln LS, lowered and rolling on 20's ... yes, it's black and so are the rims. I'm also a long time fan of AC/DC and term just came to me from the song Back In Black, "I'm deadloose from the noose ..."

Lead Foot: Also for the LS, because I'm heavy on the accelerator. Looking forward to supercharging it.

Kawapowa: One of my last bikes being a Ninja, I conjured the terms of Kawasaki and Power together coming up with somewhat of a native Indian term.

Zuki Dude: Well, this one was originally thought up when I purchased the M50 last year. It's a Su'Zuki' and I'm a dude ... go figure.

I used to have another nick: SYSMGR when I was using a VAX. Then I moved on to unix, and used the name "root". Later, when Windows NT came out, I was "Administrator".

For the past 5 years or so, I've stuck with "inspiron". And recently, I've started using "gsx1400" as well.

Stop! Please Stop! LOL

I had one site that the access control software was on a unix computer. My biggest problem was I didn't know unix and was alway paging through manuals to try to figue out the commands to get where I needed. I didn't mess with it enough to get efficent with it. Since then, I switch companies and don't have to deal with it anymore.

The story behind my username is a somewhat cliché but, uhm, whatever... I was 13 years old and one day after a day at school, I was walking towards my busstop when I saw that "thing"... A brand new GSXR750 and my brother sat on it. I was like: OH **** ME SIDEWAYS ! He just said: Hop on... I did NOT hesitate for a split second. For me back then, this was like stepping onto the red carpet singing koomba yah Oh jolly, that was the best thing ever. And guess what... In a couple of months I'm gonna buy the exact same bike just because that was my first "love".
Here she is... My Eleanor, my unicorn:
