Default Time of Year....

For everybody I would like to recall John Lennon's great Christmas song "Happy Christmas".

So this is Christmas - And what have you done
Another year over - And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas - I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one - The old and the young

A very merry Christmas - And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one - Without any fear

And so this is Christmas - For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones - The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas - For black and for white
For yellow and red ones - Let's stop all the fight

A very merry Christmas - And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one - Without any fear

And so this is Christmas - And what have we done
Another year over - And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas - I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one - The old and the young

A very merry Christmas - And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one - Without any fear

A great song by a great man. A true humanitarian. Some may consider him a hippie, and that's partly true, but he was (and remains) a true musical genius. His influence on music will live on far longer than the memory of any of us will.

That song's meaning is so pure, it almost takes on a spirit of its own. Believe it or not, I follow that idea when it comes to Christmas. For instance, this year, rather than buying me gifts, I have requested that folks take the time they were going to spend shopping and spend it with me in fellowship. My folks honored my request (supposedly), but I'm sure that I will get some cash or something. Maybe I'll donate it (yeah, right). Peace, love, and brotherhood (PERSONhood for you PC'ers), that's what it's all about. Not a third-party shopping spree.

Merry Christmas
