| Sprocket Pilot ![]() | Got a new form of security for my family, house, and toys. She is a 7 week old Hybrid. Mom is 25% husky, 75% timber-wolf. Dad is 1/2 akida, 1/2 timber-wolf. Both parents are close to my hips at their waists and she shows every sign of being just as big. Should bring some interesting times. First picture is her and the husky/white shepard mix that already runs things around the house, 2nd one is just her trying to be cute.

| When I was a kid we had a Shepherd/Wolf. Cool dog, but unmanagable by a little kid. We gave it away (lived in town) and he ended up killing the farmer's goat. That animal would run along the pickup in the mountains, through the woods, for miles. It was beautiful, but hardly a family pet. I'd advise you to train it not to bark at approaching people, and to socialize it well. It will bark anyway if there's real danger around, but you don't want to constantly annoy your neighbors, like mine do me.

| awesome! i love big dogs...grew up with shepherds mostly and had a 70 pound husky (thats big for a purebred husky) too. he was my favorite dog, he had such a personality, howling when we came in the door. i agree with clint, train it WELL! obedience training for dogs that size is a must. but the male of pack animals is always interesting. they try to be the "alpha" and require constant reminders of who is boss, which is a lot of fun rough housing and knowing it is OK for you to throw him on the ground on his back and give him the evil eye...haha . |

| For sure, Obedience training and lots of socializing with other dogs when their young is very important. I had a big beautiful Dobe who was absolutely gorgeous and the best personality/friendly. I miss him.
