I have a question for all you car audio enthusiasts. I have some stereo equipment that I want to install in my two vehicles come income tax time. One vehicle is a Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback. The other is a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. Here's the situation. I have two head units to install. One is a Kenwood cd/mp3 with two preamp outputs and 1 sub preamp output. The other is a JVC cd/mp3 player with two preamp outputs, but NO sub preamp outputs. I also have an enclosure with two 10" subs inside plus a 500W Kenwood amp. Either way, the enclosure and amp are going to have to go in the Elantra because space is very limited in the SUV. That enclosure would take up most of the space there and I can't do that because that's the vehicle we take on trips and is also considered the "family vehicle." So, I need a very compact unit, which is why I want to go with the http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MXp8K0N...0&I=108BASSLIN Infinity basslink system. Would I be better off hooking the external amp and sub/enclosure to the Kenwood since it has a sub preamp output? Also the Santa Fe has the Monsoon stereo system, so it has an external 200W amp stock. Would I be able to connect the stock external amp to the JVC receiver plus the Infinity powered sub? What limitations would I face by not having a dedicated, non-fading sub preamp output?
