Default I was banned from a CoD server for cheating...

and I don't even know how to cheat. I'm so frustrated I could spit. In fact, I just did. A little. By accident.

I was merrily kicking some arse in the Pavlov map with my trusty open-sighted KAR against about six other players. I had opened a good lead and was feeling just dandy, when the admin/player texted that I was being kicked for a "warp" cheat. He/she claimed that I had moved from the ground to the fourth floor in "like one second". I hastily threw up an objection, but was kicked anyway. I re-entered the map and flung a few more challenges to their case. I was kicked again. The third time in I was pissed and got nasty. I was permanently banned. That really chafes my cherries. I hate being accused of dishonest as much as I hate cheating.

Yes, it's but one of several hundred servers, but still. Do I have any recourse? Probably not. That's my frustration. It's just a game, but it's about more than that.

i play Guild Wars....havent had the cheating problem there, but the server will up and boot you sometimes after playing a mission for almost an hour and being 2 minutes from finishing. then you have to log on and do it all over.

used to play Diablo and Freelancer and they booted for cheating by accident sometimes too

All we have to our names, especially online, is our honor and integrity. It sucks when one or both of those are in question and people would rather just be done with you then let you explain.

I feel for ya man.

G/L with CoD (whatever that is. lol)

Call of Duty its a war based online game

reason i play? its fun plus it costs $40 and i have over 600 hours logged since i started playing May 1st (please dont do the average hours per day math!!). but the cost for amount of entertainment is a great ratio.

Ahh things are so much clearer now.

I play that new x-box game, Battlefront. Lots of fun and good time to be had with the buddies after it's dark, cold, and the drinks start going around.

ah Pinhy I'm semi-recently addicted to Guild Wars myself. My Guild, PIE, was even a GW Guild of the Week a few weeks ago:

I wouldn't worry about it. That is one sorry *** game. you should play Serious Sam II instead. That game rocks. And oh yea, stop cheating.

How do you "log" time? Is there a counter somewhere in the game? I've been addicted twice to CoD, once to the Wolfenstein3D demo, and I was a master at Unreal Tournament against the bots.

See, thats the problem...your to practiced. The "admin" was probably some 13 year old punk who doesn't know how to be geniunely good at a game without cheating, and was upset cuz you fragged him a few times. Sounds like its time to start hosting your own game. I used to have a Tribes team, and one of our guys was amazing...never seen anything like it, and probably never will. 6th sense. We got accused too many times, so we just started hosting our own games, (easy with tribes). Good Luck

Yeah actually Guild Wars does log your total time, and total deaths

yup...it will tell you how many hours for that character and for total hours played with all characters (the command function is "/age" like that matters)...and then "/deaths" tells you "you have died 220 times"

didnt play at all last night though! so proud of myself! haha (cause i had bowling league might be why).

this has happened before its just a slight disconnectionand reconnection or insane lag....

when ur on the bottom floor your latency can soar to the moon causing you to glitch around insanely for other players, it just so happens that when you were on the first floor as you say, you expirienced high latency, and started heading up the stairs to the fourth floor... your router may have disconnected or latency boosted up, showing you as on the first floor on the server, but when your latency calmed down or quickly reconnected it showed you on the 4th floor, where you actually were...

this happens to me so much in World of warcraft... lag spikes is wat they called...

well its either that or you were cheating lol

In World or Warcraft, lag + rogue using sprint = impossible to kill

Ok, I'll buy that theory, but how does another player know where I in particular am? There are no name flags or anything.
