Talking Whopping 95F this time of the year...

This is to our northern brothers riding the cold in November. I just heard the weather forecast for Los Angeles and it's going to be in the 90's and 95's in the valleys!!! Can you believe it??? And now, I had to keep the leather jacket back in the closet and wear the mesh instead to keep me from passing out in the heat. Ride on and be safe...

It's been too warm for the past few weeks here too. I was out on Saturday, and riding up in the mountans (around 3,000 feet) - it felt like springtime. The only sign that it was October was the snow poles which they had installed along the street.

No thanks. Front page of the paper today said we got the most rain ever for October (Ever! not since 19??, Ever!) 11 inches of rain in one month. I'm sure the North east US understands.

11" is not abnormal for here. The west coast of Vancouver Island and north coast around Prince Rupert and the Queen Charlotte's average 167"'s a year.
It is nice when it is spread out with some sun in between.
Our last few summers have been longer and hotter. Our rain periods have been a little heavier.
The upside is the green countryside.A day or 2 of sun and you forget about the rain. The air is so fresh and everything sparkles. A ride thru the valley is awesome.

They are 6 foot wooden poles, painted orange and black, planted along the street every 100 feet or so. They are there so that the snow plow knows exactly where the street is when it has been covered over night.

You California desert-rats don't know anything about snow...

Maybe you should order some snow poles just in case.
Nothing more maddening than shoveling your driveway, then have the snowplows come along doing the steet and fill your driveway up.

My house has an underground garage - 2 floors below the street level. The driveway is pretty short and very narrow, so it is at a steep angle. Last winter it snowed pretty heavily one day - I swept/shoveled the driveway free while it was still snowing. By the time I was finished, there was almost an inch of snow back where I had started. I tried to get my car out of the garage - and failed. I couldn't even get up the driveway without the car sliding.

I did what had to be done ... slowly backed down back into the garage (not fun, because the driveway has two sharp 45° turns at the bottom) and called my company telling them I was going to be working out of my home office.

I really don't like working at my home office ... no one there to look over my shoulder to see what I'm doing, being able to work with the radio on, wearing comfortable clothing instead of a suit, being able to concentrate without some loud woman in the next office yelling into the telephone for hours on end ... yea, I really hate it!

Well it is snowing here today, it looks like it is going to stay we already had 3 inches over night and it is still coming down. So while I'am out shoveling my drive way this evening I will be thinking of you guys down in the states still riding your bikes and trying not to get upset.

You all Suck...I put my bike away last weekend, though it's supposed to be nice this weekend, so I may go for one more ride...

Inspiron, Nice to see someone else who knows what snow poles are. Where I went to college, People actually have entrances to the second story of their house, without stairs going to it. When the snow piles up, they just use the 2nd floor entrance. No Joke. 220" a year average. Houghton MI, (-88.55032/47.11853)
