| I'm going to Manhattan (Financial District) with a co-worker for a couple days. Does anybody have any great ideas on places to stay in mid to lower Manhattan? Less than stratospheric prices would be nice.

| Downtown Manhattan / Soho Holiday Inn charges $350.00 to $397.00 a night. You can try them on 1-212-9668898 or www.holiday-inn.com. Holiday Inn is always a good bet

| Tim.... I'm sure you've checked out some places like Expedia, Cheaprooms.com, etc. Just a couple of suggestions: Try roomsaver.com (I travel a lot and use that service extensively, and then cross-reference it to other sites.) Some new things I found: If you are a Delta Sky Miles member, they offer some good competitive deals on rooms and rental cars. Also, Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's Wholesale Warehouse memberships can get you substantial savings on rooms and rental cars.

| Financial District can be spendy... midtown does have some good places too. I did a thanksgiving weekend across from the library for less than $500 walking distance to most everything. Short cab down to Wall ect.

I have used Hotwire.com and I really liked them. You just pick the area and they offer you choices based on price and ratings. They do not give you the name or address until you pay. But it was worth it, best deals I have seen. Hotwire Last edited by gunslinger92557; 10-27-2005 at 02:29 AM. |
