| Seat Tester | I was in from '94 - '98 stationed at Langley. 3C2 Tech Controller in 1CS and in ACC. After I got out, I was away from the base for a month and a half ... relaxing and not worrying about work (lol) when I got an offer to come back to work as a civilian working (approximately) the same job. I've been there ever since. Well ... until the end of the month, that is. I quit my job, I'm taking Nov & Dec off and going back to school full time starting in Jan. WOOHOO! That will be a nice change of scene, change of pace and get a degree to go along with my career so when I go back to work I can get a better job. I'm nervous, but glad to finally have the opportunity to do this.

| Never stationed there, but lived there for a while(11yrs) and still have lots of family there. Not a place to raise kids IMO, unless you can afford private school. There are some nice places to live but not really close to base. I would rather be in snow 9 months out of the year than live there.

| I think I'm starting to know what you mean si-lo. Appreciate the input. I need to get on the ball and fill out a new dream sheet (w/out including Barksdale). When I returned to Yokota from a Kuwait deployment in Oct 2002, I was notified that I had an assignment to McConnell. I cringed at the very though. My career field functional manager at Scott called to apologize (he was my previous boss at Yokota). I've been at McConnell now for 2.5 years. Wichita isn't too bad of a place, not as bad as I thought it would be. However, I want to PCS, hopefully in the West coast or Southwest. Retirement will come knocking on my door in a couple of years, and that's where I'd like to be when that day arrives.

| Plattsburgh....man i wish they had never closed that base. Don't get me wrong I am country folk from the south, but I would have stayed there my entire career. I am in Vehicle Operations, and man has our career field gone through the changes. First we were driving convoys in Saudi (BlueBall Express), now we're providing convoy security in Iraq. Lets see my assignments have been Plattsburgh Ny Apr 90 to Dec 94 / TDY to Saudi Arabia twice while I was there Altus Ok Dec 94 to Jun 2001 / Entirely too long there / TDY five times in the desert Barksdale La Jun 01 to Jan 05 / TDY three more times to the sandbox to include Iraq Osan South Korea Jan 05 to Jan 06 / Man I love the SOJU / Back to Barksdale in Jan 06 /

| Asl long as you stay in south Bossier Parish. I wound up buying land down by Toledo bend. To me it's worth making the trip to work every day. Once I retire I am heading a little farther south, just below Alexandria.
