That's exactly what I do, Silas, but the 90* valve didn't work. I went back to a straight one.

Problem is, while riding I'm often not stopped enough to drink what I should. Seeing that tube sticking out in front of me reminds me that I'm thirsty.

That's a really good observation. Now that you bring it up, I can't count how many times I've stopped, drank half a bottle of water, started riding again and felt thirsty again a half hour later.

On the extra hot day, like we have had the last few years, I take my Camelbak with me. I strap it to the pillion and have the hose hanging within reach. This work pretty well for me to keep hydrated.

Remember, you're thirsty long before you realize it.

I bought this for my trip from last week:

I placed it in my tank bag and just squeezed the tip under my helmet once in a while.

Worked well but it seemed to have leaked... I have to double check it.

I can't tell you how right you are: I ended up overheating with heat exhaustion on Saturday and suffered from a severe headache for two days. I wasn't even riding a bike, just exposed to the elements outside with little water.

I drank 1 gallon of water and still have not fully recovered even today. Hopefully tomorrow.

headaches should not last that long no matter what. go see a doctor before you die. I thought I had a headache and waited 24 hours. They found an aneurysm. not cool

Hey I was racing one day out on an open track no shade what so ever, not any near the start line, or spectators. Well I finished a moto and was takin gear off to cool down and thats when it happened it was a 30 min plus 2 moto and I had lost so much water that I passed out due to de hydration So now I really stop and drink plenty of fluids during the hotter part of the summer. With gerogia its not really heat hot its more of a humidity thing that really takes your breath.
