Ya think we could get a forum fun pool going? Putting money on it is what makes football great, but the logistics may be tough. (paypal?) We could just do it for fun. Straight pics , no spreads, (keeps the newbies interested) , winner takes all, which would be nothing. Since it was my idea, I don't have to run it.

my family does a fantasy football thing through yahoo. they have a feature where you can pay money to register and charge per the amount of reactions each person makes and all that and at the end the winner gets a trophy and money is split however you want it. its alot of fun especially when you know the people you're competing against so if something like that gets started id be interested.

They play football on Sunday?

I'm much more of an NCAA fan (more specifically, SEC) than an NFL fan

GOOOOOOOO DAWGS..SICK EM......WOOF..WOOF..WOOF..WOOF

My only problem is working weekend nights, I rarely catch games anymore
Of course any SEC team after the Dawgs in OK, as long as it isn't Florida. When you are a kid in GA you are taught that the gators are Satan-Worshiping, Baby-killers, that cheat on their taxes.

Yeah, the DirecTV deal is pretty sweet! But, I have it turned off right now. Trying to save some $$$ for other things.

I have a football. Sometimes . . . when I find a friend that's not hog-tied to his TV set . . . we . . . throw it to each other. It's a simple game. One rule. The rule is, whoever has the ball is the next to give it a toss.

LOL - I was raised in NC, but I did learn that after moving to Alabama. And we we're sad at all to see Fl. State move to the ACC

War Eagle!

What exactly is a "Roll Tide"? Don't they show a trampling elephant? You'd think they'd have a ferry boat of bread turned over in a harbor, with the load rolling in with the waves, or something.

Actually when they played their first games, the only jerseys they could afford were the crimson ones.

The annoucers said that it looked like a giant 'Crimson Tide'. After that the fans started to pick up on it. They would chant 'Roll Tide' as the team moved down the field.

Still doesn't explain why they still have an elephant for a mascot

(sez the guy who's alma mater is called the Tigers, has an Eagle for a mascot and yells 'War Eagle', and is also called The Plainsmen - go figure )

Meatman, I went to the Orange Bowl in 2000 (quite a party in Miami). I also wondered what a Roll-Tide-Roll was. Well, I found out.

A youth that attended a school local to me back in MI (local as in Ann Arbor) appeared at the game shirtless. Perhaps he was inebriated. He was running and staggering haphazardly through the parking lot outside the stadium. He had a box of tide laundry detergent attached to his head. On top of this, was a roll of toilet paper. It was streaming behind him as he ran about.

Roll Tide Roll.
