| 1999 - Aerosmith, with opening act - Jonny Lang. 7th row at the World Music Theater just South of Chicago. Loud doesn't describe it. Probably lost what was left of my hearing after my reprobate music junkie youth in the 60's & 70's. Hard to forget this one, though - it was early September and the night Princess Di was killed. |

| Metallica/C.O.C in Gund Arena in 97 or 98. My friend and I drove 3 hours home and did not say a word to each other cuz we could not hear anything. Or Metallica at Legend Valley 88' (Buckeye Lake Ohio) some how I ended up standing in front of the speakers. My mom was ticked cuz she would ask me to do something and I guess I was ignoring her. The ring stopped after 3 days. I try not to get that close anymore

| Seat Tester | Rush, Allentown, PA, 1978. I was 17, and this was my second-ever concert. I couldn't hear right for nearly a week after an evening of exceptionally loud screaming rock & roll in a fairgrounds building with a metal roof.

| Im spoiled... I've worked on a lot of these shows and toured with some of them. I hear white noise in my sleep. Loudest attended - front row for Van Halen in 85. Best summer ever - 94 Stones/Dead/Floyd/Lolapaloza/Joel-John/Woodstock. Most interesting line up worked - Halftime w/Aerosmith, N-suck, Brattney, Nelly. Wierdest night - Nocturnal Wonderland in like 2002 - 10 hours on the "happy hardcore" stage. Oh the places you will go...

| Not even close: Terrible Ted Nugent, outdoors even, at the old "Big A" in Anaheim. The stage was behind the center field fence, we were on the top deck directly behind home plate. So, essentially as FAR from the stage as possible (blitzed to the begeezus belt too, I might add)... sitting there yelling to my buddy standing next to me, "huh? wuddya say?"... Now THAT'S LOUD!!! Daryl

| I believe it. Although these days Ted is nowhere as loud as in the 70s, the backline he used in the mid-late 70s was Six Fender Super Twin Reverb amps (the biggest, loudest guitar amps Fender ever made) and extension cabs for said amps. Just ONE Super Twin Reverb will rip your head off, let alone six of them. - Nut
