the safety dance is just the epitome of why music from the 80's isn't being duplicated in any form whatsoever.

Along with "the cars".

Are kidding me? Marilyn Manson and some others are remaking an 80s song every other album.

This gem is/was being used for a commercial relatively recently....Soon as it's out of my head....I catch it in "Disturbia" the other night....now it's back in there....especially her high pitched Harpie-esque wailing in the middle of the song...

The Cars the band, or the Gary Numan song?

Personally, I hate Freebird and Stairway. So overplayed in this part of the country that they have lost any and all musical appeal to me.

Thank you.

Growing up in the Northeast...we were fed a steady diet of regional northeast acts (i.e. Bruce Springsteen) on the rock station. The occasional Skynrd tune or Rock Block was a treat.

When I moved down here....lord forbid you diss Florida's favorite sons. Namely the Van Zandt clan. In the 80's, 90's, and now we're fed Skynrd ad nauseum down here. Either .38 Special, or Skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii nerd man!!!! Always everpresent, but nary a Boss tune to be had.

Don't get me wrong, I dig Skynrd, I just hate Freebird. What's with the solo at the end doing basically the same thing for 5 minutes? Painful.

I do like some Skynrd, though. Give Me Back My Bullets is an awesome song.

Not sayin' I hate 'em either...just a leeeetle too much of a good thing sometimes.....

FWIW..."Gimme back my bullets" is one of those rare treats. Doesn't get a lot of airplay. Lot of power in that song. Excellent guitar hooks.

just not "Freebird" the song, but everybody has to sing their own rendition and everybody thinks they sing it the best.

Man...talk about cheesy 80's keyboard hooks....that song ranks right up there in the top five.

Syndrome of a Downs - Chop Suey

These pretentious hard ons got on my radar a some time ago when this song was first on the radio. I saw a stripper try and get all artistic on the brass pole to this song. It was at once the most intriguingly ridiculous thing I'd seen in quite some time, so it always stuck with me. (It wasn't even a good club either......)

God, I hear "play some Skynyd" every freaking week.

Actually a couple of weeks ago we did do Call Me the Breeze. The chick that requested it was HOTTTTXXXXX

Otherwise, meh, I'd rather not play it.
