cassettes worked well, especially in cars.

Man, I had the Tom Petty album "full moon rising" on cassette and must have played the whole thing a couple of hundred times.

CD's were expensive back then, they cost $9, and cassettes cost $5 and change.

That and CD players for cars were like $300 vs $150 for cassette decks.

and now it's mp3s. I remember the very first time I heard the phrase, May 1994, invented in Das fatherland. I thought "this will flip music on it's ear."

Well, it took several years, but it did just that.

I kind of wonder what's next.

maybe the format won't change, maybe the media that holds the music will.

I know anything's possible, my folks who live in podunk got stinkin' wireless 3 miles out of town.

LOL!!!

I still use the CD tape adapter in one of the work trucks. I was over joyed when I found the MP3 player worked with the adapter.

Danced, like a little girl.....

oh heck yeah, there's lots of those old cars out there still running around with tape decks in them.

GM put tape decks in there cars until the mid '90s.

and if you want to run a mp3 player, you are almost better off with a tapedeck to play it through.

this is for the folks who don't want to buy a(n) mp3 player and have it installed in their vehicle.

I still haven't found a way to keep the needle from jumping when I hit bumps. Think I need a new stereo?

you know it's a work van when it's 10 years old and no sign of getting rid of it.
