One mystery that has fascinated me since I was young:

I admit it. It was me. Can I turn myself in for the reward? Then I can use my reward money to pay my lawyer.

Now, let's see, the guy jumped from the plane in 71. Nearly 40 years ago.

As close as they could ever figure, he was in his 30's and served in the special forces.

That would make him in his 70's today assuming;
1) He didn't land in the trees on the jump and die of injuries
2) He hasn't passed on from natural causes since.

I think the FBI is making a stink now, because the guy probably just died, or one of his relatives finally blabbed.

I hope they solve it . . . but then . . . it wouldn't give us anything to speculate!

Wasn't DB Cooper the guy on the Grassy Nole in December 1963?

You can speculate where Steve Fosset disappeared to.

So, a 40-something with no prior skydiving experience jumps out of the tail of a 727 with no idea where he is . . . in the rain.

Prediction: He was eaten within a day of touching the ground.

I thought the authorities narrowed it down that he was in the paratroopers; which is why he knew enough about which kind of plane to hi-jack.

Very few airliners at that time could open a door without everybody seeing it and the windy depressurization making it rather difficult to control the plane.

That's right, they never did find Fosset's plane, did they. Didn't he crash in the mountains as close as they could tell?

Saw a special on the Bermuda triangle too.

The most plausible answer they had was methane build up on the bottom of the ocean in a form of a hydrite. It was speculated that if enough of this methane was released (say due to tectonic plates moving), a boat would lose bouyancy.

Doesn't really explain the airplanes, though.

oh I dunno...have you ever been on a plane when there was a massive methane buildup? I have to admit that on occasion, I've been the source of the massive methane buildup and I can tell you, eyes water, skin burns, children wail and men gnash their teeth.
