I'd love to, but can't make it this time. I have to build a fence this weekend.

YES SIR! When this comes more into play, if I can get enough warning I can try and get a good sized group from out here hopefully. I already have offers of people wanting to set up a ride.

I am guessing since there are no posts about it, everyone who attended is still hungover

I wish I could have attended. I'm not far from SATX.. but with all the rain spanning from north to south Texas yesterday, it was a horrible 4th of July to be out biking to Nut's place. The great Fort Hood fireworks show cancelled and postponed until Saturday [???].

Not the average 4th of July around here. I hope everybody had a fun and safe holiday, though.

Sorry I couldn't make it Nut. The constant rain up here in Austin made it impossible for me to ride. I don't know how it was in your neck of the woods, but I hope you didn't have to cancel it. Arrgg, mother nature, she be a harsh mistress (done with pirate voice).

The street in front of your house must look like a scorched launch pad. You sure had a nice assortment; I only spent about $120 this year.

Yeah, we blew a LOT of stuff off in the backyard this year to expedite clean-up. The cul-de-sac in which I live does indeed still look like a scorched launch pad still though.

Those rolls of 2,000 firecrackers were pretty cool.

Ah, I miss those days. Back on New Year's 2001 in NW Houston, we paid about $120 a piece for two rolls of 20,000 black cats. We put one in the sewer grate, and one on the side of the road, lit them and walked off. That thing must have blown up for 90 minutes straight. The neighbours didn't appreciate it, but our enjoyment was all that mattered to us.
