Default Nothing worse than . . .

. . . having to grab a handful of brake and have the bike take forever to slow down. Christ I have to get those new brake pads installed in my 750!!! Old ones are way too glazed from track use. I have a new set just sitting there and I've been too busy. I think tomorrow I will go ahead and change them out!

Plus, sounds like a 12 pack job ( single disk on front ). Can't rush thee things you know.

how about nothing worse THAN grabbing a handfull of brakes and the pavement not working. Nothing like a case of deceleration syndrome.

Putting on new pads on a single front disc is the removal of the two bolts holding the caliper to the fork, take out the kotter pin and the retaining pin, pop out the old pads, put in the new ones, replace the retraining pin and kotter pin, bolt 'em back on. I can't slam a 12 pack that fast...

Okay Tim, try it this way...Slam one bottle to start. Then another as you gather tools (2 down)...

Now you continue with one beer per bolt on removal. One beer for the cotterpin, one beer for the retaining pin, one beer each pad. Now you're up to 8 gone...for safety sake, limit yourself to one beer upon completion of the pad install, one following the retaining pin/cotterpin operation, one following the reinstall of the caliper to the fork, and one once you've cleaned up the area and replaced your tools.

See? It IS a 12 pack job!

Of course, go back tomorrow to recheck your work, because I doubt you'll be correct...something about alcohol affecting judgement and spatial relationships, etc...
