I'm about .2 miles under the Sheets Gap Overlook on the Parkway. Good place to live if you love to ride. Thanks for the welcome.

You are so lucky. I go up around there the most when I head to the mountains. So many great roads. In fact, I am thinking of heading up there next weekend.

Welcome.

Hi... just joined the site today. I live in Charlotte. I spent the day today up on the parkway... I love riding to the NC mountains.

Looks like a great site.

I just got back from riding the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Asheville area. Absolutely a fantastic ride!! It has a lot of serious (but not radical) twisties.

In the general area, there are some tremendous rides for those who's skill levels allows them seriously radical rides. Most people in the area aren't impressed with the Dragon's tail at Deal's Gap, saying that there are other rides that are much more scenic, excellent at testing your skills and much longer than the Dragon.

The Dragon is innundated with riders on the weekends and "John Law" is everywhere! One little slip (like crossing the centerline) and they're on you like stink on a skunk.

It drives me nuts when people make such a big deal over the dragon. There are so many better places to ride.
