I'm thinking I might head up north this weekend to some state park with some nice twisties that were mentioned on this site a while back. Somewhere up by Duluth, but can't remember the name of it at this moment. Or I spose I could just have a lazy weekend at home too...hmm...I think it depends on if I get my coat by this weekend or not.

Good to hear you made it home OK, and had a good (enough) time, one of the things we do is ask different people to lead if they want, then we just ride at there pace & stop where they want to stop, it works out well because we wind up stopping at and seeing things/places that we would normally ride right past, and they are almost always interesting, and the stopping to wait really isn't a problem because some of us get a BS session going and one or two others head back on a road that we just rode (and now know, so we can pick up the pace a bit ) to collect any stragglers (I usually volunteer for that ) so in a way the slower riders are helping out the faster riders.

I think the state park you are thinking of is J Cook.

Matt, we have a ton of collective insight to share with you, and I'm sure you have something to share as well. You'd be wise to take our offer and try and learn. I'm a much better rider for having ridden with these guys. It's beneficial to watch the rider in front of you to see what he's doing poorly, and it's helpful to get critique from the guy behind you. Don't let intimidation lead you to stagnation and persistent bad habits. You said you were a bad rider once, let's work on changing that for safety's sake.

Plus, you're kinda cute. You improve our average.

Is that just because I don't have wrinkles and gray hair?

I just want to thank Matt for being a nice guy and riding last so that I could move up one slot, making me feel like I'm getting better. Yippee.

That said we fell behind and I did get us lost. Thankfully my GPS worked well enough (barely) to get us to Leland.

I had told myself that I wasn't going to ride with you guys again for the sole reason that I didn't want to hold you people up; but Rick's comment makes sense to me. And besides, now it'll be your own dang fault if you don't like waiting. You now know just how slow I am, and if you still refuse to speak up, then you can just wait for me . HA! No more feelings of guilt for Kooter - even when I see Rick coming back to look for me!

Glad you guys spoke up because I really do enjoy your company - even if some of you hit on me...

jeez - I'm starting to sound like a drama queen over here....

Matt, I know my riding skills have greatly improved since riding with this group. Even this spring I was in your shoes and by working on my cornering all summer I am now able to at least almost keep up with the rest. Not to say that they are riding at their limit but compared to before it was me they were waiting for. It is nice to be near or at the rear of the pack. By doing this I can see what line everybody else is taking, corner entrance speed, lean, etc.. I can follow and do the same. It does take some effort but IMO well worth it.

Also, waiting for me is kinda nice. Riding my bike at higher speeds in the twisties takes some effort and waiting gives me a chance to relax and catch my breath a bit. Maybe next season you can catch a track day with us. This season I did but I was the photographer. Watched the riders and sat in the class but I really learned a lot just by being there + it is your back yard. Dakota County Technical College.

I think Vinnie meant, "Waiting, for me, is kinda nice."

At first I thought how would you know what waiting for you is like?

Sometime, like on the ride down we get in what I like to call "cager mode", that's where we are on a schedule to get somewhere, and it's all about the destination, but mostly riding a bike is about the "ride", not the destination, and keeping to a schedule is the last thing we want to do, and if you don't have a schedule you can't be slowed down.

I'm always amzed and more than just a little interested in (at the end of the day) hearing what others in the group saw during our rides, because even though we all are riding the same roads, we are all seeing & experiencing things just a little different.

Hey Clint I know you took a few pictures of the crash scene, are you planning on posting them to show how well a Goldwing can stay rubber side down even though the rider is off the bike, I couldn't believe that thing didn't hi-side.

Tom doesn't have any broken bones, and the doc said he wants to do an MRI to be sure, but feels it's just a strain in his left knee, so a pretty good outcome compared to how it could have turned out, I know I had my heart in my throat when I saw that big gray & chrome missile sliding towards Jason, whew!!!

I thought I'd run them by Tom first out of respect. Can you get me in contact?

Also, I'd really like a Gerbings switch if you are able. Let me know when you can so I can order one if necessary. Thanks.

PM me your address Clint, I'll drop mine in the mail for you, I'm pretty sure they will give me another one, they did say I can get one with each piece I buy, and I already bought 3 and only took one switch.

Mudspringers isn't open today, or I would check with them first, but I don't think there will be a problem.

As a general rule public forums are not the best place to post photos or detailed personal accounts of 'mishaps' etc. where insurance claims and other issues are possible.
