Is everyone still doing this thing? There's an awful lot of rain in Wisconsin yet. I hope it fades away.

I'm in rain or shine, provided others are as well.

Good luck guys. Rain as of 1:00 pm is southwest of Eau Claire and moving east about one county per hour, forecast to be in Milwaukee from 5 to 7pm today. For what it's worth, which is darn little IMO.

I am back also. Got the bike unloaded and hugged my girls.
I saw 7 deer between St Croix Falls and home. Thats about normal and expected.
I had a good time getting to see everyone and meeting a few new ones.

I just got back from Nels house, (his wife was dog sitting for me), he said he got Tom home & the last he heard was that he was taking himself to the doctor to get checked out, but he was able to ride home just fine, so I'm not expecting any bad news.

J.D. I was more than a little concerned when I got the phone call from you, but when I could hear your bike running in the background and could tell that you were riding and not laying in a ditch I figured you must have called by mistake.

So it sounds like everyone has checked in except Kooter, or did I miss something.

My feet were killing me so I figured I might as well take off. Matt and I were in Leland about 30 minutes before you guys so I guess we were ready.

Hopefully Matt will check in, it's nice to know people have had uneventful rides home. At one point Matt mentioned taking a slower way back so he might have wanted more time.

I made it back home just fine - but the wife had me so busy with stuff I wasn't able to get to the computer last night. I have to come back to work just to relax!

Like Mike said, we got there quite a bit before you guys since we inadvertently ended up splitting away from you guys and you were held up by the mishap. Glad to hear Tom's alright!

I ended up taking off early as A) crowds drive me nuts and B) I found I prefer riding solo so that I can do things on my own time line and don't have to worry about holding people up. I know you guys say you don't mind waiting for me to catch up, and you can say it until you're blue in the face, but I still feel bad making you guys wait. I guess I'm just an odd duck who prefers solitude.

I ended up working my way to 33 and then taking 33 to La Crosse and from there I was on familiar roads. 33 is a nice road by the way - fun ride! I ended up stopping at a couple places that I thought were kind of neat. Some little hole in the wall gas station near Wild Cat State Park caught my eye (not entirely sure why though), took my time through Amish country as there were lots of them out and I think it's kind of neat to catch glimpses at their way of life, and even a drive by of my wife's old apartment in La Crosse (where she lived when I first met her).

It was a good weekend! I enjoyed myself and really appreciated you guys making me feel welcome! Thanks!

Hey J.D. - I showed a buddy a picture of your tire, and he is dumbfounded at how you are able to do anything on that thing. He doesn't believe me that you throw it around like an old friend.

Vinnie - Once I get my electric coat in I'll bring those pegs up to you. It will give me an excuse to try it out. Then if I am ever able to get that case like you have, I'll just look you up to see if you'll help me make it work (complete with driver backrest). I've been wanting to get up to St. Cloud again for a while now to see what's changed since my time at SCSU anyway.

Thanks again guys - appreciate it!

Thanks for the followup, Kooter. It was good to meet you.

FWIW, I'm with you on crowds, and prefer to ride alone as well. I just happen to mesh well with Vinnie, Rick, JD and Adam, so I'm comfortable riding with them. No risk takers, no idiots. It works well.

Thanks to Nels for letting me ride his K1300. I think my entire review was something like "holy crap". That thing feels like a locomotive... smooth, crazy fast (even for a B12 rider), and very comfortable. Someday....

Hey Matt, glad you made it back Ok. So you like highway 33, everyone I know who rides it has said good things. I thought I'd do that trip this year but looks like that will have to wait.

Had a fun day yesterday, thanks guys.

I liked talking with you all when we were off bikes, but on bikes you guys are WAY out of my league. And that works for me anyway, as I tend to like to stop and see stupid little things that I don't think most people would find interesting (like the gas station for example).

I'm thinking I might head up north this weekend to some state park with some nice twisties that were mentioned on this site a while back. Somewhere up by Duluth, but can't remember the name of it at this moment. Or I spose I could just have a lazy weekend at home too...hmm...I think it depends on if I get my coat by this weekend or not.

Here's a video clip from DavidLSI over at ST-N. We're visible from the boom lift at 2:39. He interviewed me but I didn't see it in a quick scan of the vid. Let me know if I'm in there.
