So that's what it looks like with the seat off.

Really sucks. I guess it's a good idea to carry extra fuses, huh. Ummm, I'd better do that.

Was it the same fuse that was blowing each time?

Yeah, the extra fuses allowed us to make our way to town. It was the ignition fuse, and every time J.D. cracked the throttle past a certain point it would blow. After the third one he had a good feel for what he could do without it blowing.

I wonder if the efi system doesn't engage something with the ignition at a certain throttle position.

This has been a big problem. My dealer has been trying real hard though. I think I have it narrowed down to the ECM. The Ignition fuse blows as soon as I crack the throttle. It has gotten worse. Last night I disconnected the Bully, to eliminate that from the equation.I pulled it apart tonight to check each of the four coils.
To top off the whole thing- my dealers only mechanic(A good one) crashed his pit bike this weekend and fractured his pelvis and ankle. The dealer was nice enough to lend me his service manual and basically work on it myself to try to figure it out.
I am hoping that my dealer will let me swap the ecm with another bike and try that.
I have checked with other dealers that are nearby but they are all two weeks out to look at it. And I have a ride to Arkansas in about a week.
We shall see what tomorrow brings.

I just checked my bike and it has 10A fuses for the ignition. I've never had problems or ever worked on bikes, but 10 amp fuses sounds like a lot of current. Hope JD fills us in on what he found.

And geesh, hope it's not expensive.

Edit: And he just did. Thanks JD. Good luck with this.

I think I have it figured out. I fused the ECM seperately and it is blowing the fuse when it gets hot. It is supposed to be in the dealers hands tomorrow.

Default IT's fixed !!

Put in the new ECM tonight and took it for a good ride. It never missed a beat.
I should probably ride around closer to home for the next few days to make sure no other bugs show up. I had alot of stuff apart under the fuel tank.

Nice!

Oh, and I found a 20A mini fuse under my seat in case we need it last weekend.

Took this road out to Baraboo, WI this weekend. LOTS of fun and especially check out the section in Wildcat Mountain State Park. Very much like the Dragon. Nice sharp twisties, the rest is fun, long sweepers. I got some good practice riding two up on these roads. Quite the experience but after a while I did not notice Oksana on the back.

A couple of pics from Wildcat Mountain

Nice! So Oksana rode all that way, huh? Cool. I like the over-the-shoulder photography.

Yep, her first motorcycle trip and she experienced the worst of riding and still liked it. Friday was perfect, Sat. we went on a long group ride through 8 hours of rain and later in the day 45 F temps. Yesterday, Sun. we had rain all the way through to the Twin Cities. Now she FULLY understands why I insisted on warm clothes and rain gear. Had she not brought the extras she would probably have gotten hypothermia. Logged a total of 682 miles with her and luggage on the back.

I have some video of the ride but it is still uploading on YouTube. Will post when it is done.

I've heard a lot of people mention highway 33. In fact last week at the Dealer's thursday night ride one of the guys talked about just recently going on it. I agree with Clint, I like the over-the-shoulder pics too. Makes you want to be there.

I'm going to have to put that on my list for this summer, soon as I get my seat fixed up.

My wife is knitting in this one. She keeps her big purse in front of her and doesn't need to look at it most of the time.
