Are you confident in the capabilities and attitudes of the riders? I'm ok with it, but at some point we become a parade.

How's about that route planning, guys? Time is short. Weather's looking up, anyway. I didn't trust a forecast that long (and still don't, really), but it's encouraging.

Rick, is this the stretch that has gravel? I've added Adam's suggested start point.

I'll go along with any route that you guys want. I may be exhausted on Mon. morning but how often do we ride together? I think either route you did will be fine Clint, short or long.

BTW, see you at 7:15 at your place.

i'm confident with this guy. I know we don't want to be a parade as well. I promise no more on my part. I'll probably keep driving after pepin and go down the length of 35 just as an fyi.

Just one guy? Is the other your dad?

Vinnie, sounds good. We'll try to expedite the day so you get some sleep. I've never been good at that myself. I hit a wall where I can't even think straight. That can be dangerous!

Nevermind on the other two. My mistake on loosing count of total numbers. On my end it will just be myself and my father.

Rick said Byington road and Big Hill road between N and 35 is gravel. Not that I'm speaking for Rick but this is what I found here and thought I'd post it as something to think about until Rick checks in.

As for me on gravel, don't know, haven't done it yet on this bike. I rode on gravel when I was a kid though.

Thanks. Ok, so it's just the short segment at the end. I'm sure we can wing it around that.

As far as route planning goes, if we end up in Pepin I have to turn around and go back to where my trailer is parked near Ellwsorth or thereabouts. I'm thinking that highway 61 on the MN side would be interesting. Any comments?

Not that we have to end up in Pepin, just if.

The gravel is on a 6 mile stretch just north of Pepin,,,,,,,, if we stay on County Road N we should miss all of the gravel, but if we get off on Big Hill Road we will hit a few short sections of gravel.

Both roads come together again at each end of Big Hill Road, so we could split into two groups if we wanted to & meet up again 6 miles later,,,,,,,,,,,,no big deal, I just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time that there might be some gravel,,,,,,,,,,if you recall we found a few miles of it last year too.

from:456 W Main St Ellsworth, WI 54011 to:County Rd A to:County Rd A to:44.626397,-92.331977 to:1st St/WI-35 to:County Hwy D to:County Hwy D to:3rd St/WI-35 - Google Maps

This little loop just North of Maiden Rock is something we might want to add to our route, I haven't ridden it , but I hear it's nice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it only adds about 6 miles.

wow just caught up with this comment.. But heading up the wisconsin side is more scenic than 61. 61 is basically like a superslab. I think its boring but I've driven 14/61 hundreds of times.

but of course you'd be doubling back what you just rode.

Vinnie, you're a dirty bastage. The email notification I got for your last post had so much blank space in it I didn't see the last line. I really thought you'd lost your job again. I heard more bad news in unemployment this morning, too. It's going to remain tough.

On a positive note, I had a second interview this morning for a copywriting position at an educational company. It went well, and I have a good feeling. I may need an Aerostich suit soon.

HAAAA, I know I would get somebody. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I at lest will have an extended weekend which I am thankful for.

Yep, it is uber tough out there and I am so glad I still have a job. Sure hope you pick up something soon Clint. You are well overdue for a break.

See ya in a couple of days.
