Default Ride in Northern MN

Hi---We have a group of local riders who will be traveling to the Black Bear Casino (20 miles south of Duluth, MN) this coming Saturday, July 5. Does anyone out there have any suggestions of other sites to see? There are some of us who really don't want to gamble...just want to RIDE!

Thanks for the suggestions!

My brother (not a motorcyclist) tells me that the Jay Cooke State Park road might be a good ride. Otherwise, I'd head up the North Shore and ride the scenic (old) highway for lack of something better.

You have better roads and casinos near home. What's the skinny?

Want to see more scenery. We've been up the North Shore (Split rock Lighthouse) On the way there, we saw LOTS of pine trees. Didn't know if there was anything else to see.

The roads around here are very nice...can rack up a lot of miles on back roads and never get too far from home.

The group we go with usually does one overnight at a casino approximately a day's ride away from home. Stop for breakfast, HD dealership on the way (they all have one except for me--and they still let me ride with ) before getting to the casino. This is only the second year for my husband and I to go with this group. Last year was my first big 'group' ride on my own bike. Ages range from 40-72.

Here's a good site for trip maps if you have a GPS because you can download the routes.

GPS Motorcycle Roads | by US States | SundayMorningRides.com

These are for MN and WI for example.

GPS Motorcycle Rides | Minnesota (MN) Road Rides | SundayMorningRides.com
GPS Motorcycle Rides | Wisconsin (WI) Road Rides | SundayMorningRides.com

And just in case tricker breezes through here I found one for Rochester.

GPS Motorcycle Rides | road - Northern Rochester Loop | SundayMorningRides.com

Anyways I've never been on one of these so I have no first hand experience, but they do look interesting.
