I'm a trailer queen too. I get too tired to ride the good stuff after the ride to the place I am going to ride in the first place. Does that make sense?

Sometimes trailering and or throwing them in the bed of the truck are not such a bad idea. Of course you spend a heck of alot more in fuel. Which nowadays is alot. But I tell you what,, coming home Sunday while it was raining and not being exhausted going up there and coming back was nice too.

Plus how would we have transported the only beer in three counties and the burn your bum Jambalaya up there on the bikes too?

Being exhausted is part of living life, and it's how you know you've accomplished something. You ain't living life unless you're miserable now and then.

Sean, remember those Givi cases you guys razzed me about? That's how you carry the beer. Later, I'll tell you about the free beer they carried for me.

Well I actually keep pondering a cross country ride on the LC sometime in the next year. Next April will be my five year mark and I get the extra week of vacation. Guess what I'm doing with that.

I may be knocking on your door for a layover,,lol!!!

Wow. Those are some cools pics. Thanks for sharing them and your cool stories with us.

It feels so awkward when I call it the Dragon. I guess I'll always call it Deal's Gap. That pic in front of the Dragon/Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort- is that the Crossroads of Time motel remodeled or is that a separate new place? How was it? I use to go a few times a year and stay at the COT motel. It was kind of plain and outdated with sparse accommodations which was just perfect for us single guys back then. I took a girl up there once and she hated the rooms. Sheesh! The big tree out front was just that- a big tree. Now it's a shrine, right? It looks like it has really become and awesome attraction. I've got to get back there. I'll be joining you all sometime soon. Again, thanks for the pics. They've got me reminiscing now...

(Sniff, sniff) Vinnie, you still got some of those tissues left.

I thought cross country was coast to coast. Oh well, what does an old goat like me know anyway. BTW, Adam I will most likely be in Rochester Sat. 6/21. Maybe we can hook up for that big hug and kiss you promised me.

My plan is to get (or build) a trailer too. Especially when your going to some place where it's really neat to ride, why get all tired out just getting there. But I suppose I'm just getting old.

I've been exhausted enough times and accomplished many long trips, not on a bike mind you. Taking a trailer would not cost more given four riders. Consider 40 mpg average with four riders=10 mpg for a truck, very doable. Now throw in being able to drive straight through and not spend $$ on two rooms. What $150=$300 both ways. Wear and tear on the bikes. Essentially between the four of us we burned through one set of mc tires so a savings of about $300>$400. That would put in our pockets another $600>$700 which form where I sit this would be a couple extra days of riding=good times.

Opps gotta run and go to work!!

I saw your question the first time, d_j, but I don't think any of us paid attention. We didn't stay there. Maybe one of the more local guys knows. As far as I know, it's just called Deal's Gap Resort.
