Looks like our start on Friday from Minnesota could be a bit cold & wet, forecast is for rain.

The only reason I brought it up, is because if it rains, we won't have to worry about having the sun in our eyes.

Original planning thread

cms58 is going to be there Saturday and Sunday too. FYI.

Talked to Everett Keith and he said that he is going to see if he can make it for the weekend with us. Also talked to morecarl and Road Momma and they might come up to catch us along the way on Sunday.

BlackholeKelley is looking into whether he can make it this weekend too. But morecarl, Road Momma, and BlackholeKelley will probably peel off before we head back towards Robbinsville.

It looks like we will have the chance of rain until we get to central Ill. After that sun und fun. I did buy a rain jacket yesterday anticipating the rain. Does everybody have rain gear?

I'm reasonably well protected, but I despise wearing that stuff. It makes me feel like a greenhouse.

Well it is looking like the advance forecast of a 30% chance of rain for the weekend.
So better bring some greenhouse gear.

Well, I must say I don't trust any forecast beyond 48 hours, but if it does prove to be 30%, that means a 70% chance of dry.

Got the Givi mounts reinstalled tonight, and fine-tuned my tank bag backup straps. I also took the Dremel to my Crampbuster to make it fit the grip better and clear my "cruise control" (a fat o-ring). It's fun tweaking things.

I am psyched. I think I'll start my anxiety induced insomnia tonight.

All I have left is to pack everything. If I could head out tomorrow... heh, its rough. I don't want to have problems or even hear about problems. I can bearly focus on my every day stuff.

Oil is changed out, tires checked, bolts checked, tool pouch stuffed, got maps, various necessary lists. I have a list of Wally Worlds for the local area. All that is left is to pack clothes and wash the bike. I may be the only one able to sleep tomorrow night. I can have a cup of jo and crash. Really looking forward to this. No wife, no kids. The only thing I am a bit anxious about is that I have not had a good chance to run any twisties with my fat pig, where are they in MN. So I do plan on taking it a bit easy once we get there. I don't want to be a road marker.

clothing packed, check list is pretty much marked off, 140 miles on the current oil change, bike cleanedish. All i have to do now is put the stuff on the bike and find a few small items and for it to be friday.. I know what you mean vinnie about minnesota and its infamous "twisties". I got a run in last month at my parents place but i was cautious of it due to it being country roads and well.. gravel in the corners like usual.

Well I am sitting here biting my nails to nubs. I cancelled the original order I placed for the new exhaust pipe since it wasn't going to get here until Thursday or Friday of NEXT WEEK!!!! So I decided that I would opt to spend an extra $60 bucks total I don't have to get it here hopefully by this Thursday.

Then I have to change the oil, mount the chock, load my brother's SV in the truck bed, hitch the trailer, load the Wee, pack our junk for the night, load the cooler, go to the funeral Saturday morning, and then head out.

Man,, I need to do this more often!!!

Here's a route for Garmin in case anyone's interested. It calculates 40 miles longer than Google does, and I haven't figured out why yet.

I don't recall where exactly in Oakdale we are to hook up with Adam & Rick. We do have a plan right? 24 hrs and counting.

Well mapquest puts me in Robbinsville in 3-1/2 hours from my house. If that is the case and we get on the road between Noon and 1:00 then we should hopefully get there in time to unload the bikes and head north up 129 over to the Foothills Parkway and I will backtrack your inbound route from Maryville to try to catch you guys along the way.

Then again if not then we shall see you when you get there. Either way give me a buzz Saturday morning and along the way to let me know your estimated time of arrival.
