I'm PMing those of you who've gotten me your contact info the document I put together. Please check your section for accuracy and let me know of any changes or additions.

I'll laminate quarter-sheet cards for each of us if you guys are interested. Otherwise, I'll be putting the list in my kit and the cell numbers in my phone.

Adam, we can give you a heads up. I would say no sooner than 9, and more like 9:30. We'll try to call by 8:30.

Dont worry about trying to hook up with me, I'll just plan on leaving St Paul about an hour after your planed time to leave St Cloud, between 6 and 6:15, that way we should all reach Oakdale to meet up with Adam at about the same time.

Thanks, Sean. I just need Chris' contact info and I have everyone.

I'm bringing my camera gear and would love to get some Dragon shots of you guys. Maybe we can be thinking about good locations for that.

Also, I'm going to give one of you (probably Vinnie) a spare set of keys for the Bandit and Givi bags, in case I lose mine. You guys might do the same.
Yes, lets both be there at 4:55.

It's up in the air how far we'll go Friday, but the route is listed in the first post. I'd guess we'll go about 700 miles.

Oh well. Will check it out when I get home. Can't pull it up here. I know my brother wants to run the Dragon, NC28, and the Cherohala. Will see what the route looks like and how spiffy we are feeling Saturday.

If not then maybe we will just have a cooler with some frosty beverages there when you guys get there.

Keep me posted definitely. We plan on hitting the road Saturday morning by 8:00 am at the latest. That should,, and I mean should put us there at about noon.
Give me a buzz that morning with an estimated ETA and somewhere along the way so I can figure out if we are going to ride up the Dragon and meet you guys or just wait at the hotel.

Sean pointed out that we've routed ourselves through the Dragon on the way to Robbinsiville.

Route adjusted per his suggestions.

Umm,, recheck the route Rowdy. You are still going down the Dragon and part of the highlighted route is a trail. Probably no problem for the V-Strom's but some of the rest of you might find it a little challenging.

Coming from the direction you guys are coming from there really is no way to avoid the Dragon unless you go further south on US-411 to pick up 360 southward to 165 Eastward which eventually turns into 143. Of course this is the Cherohala Skyway.

So it will be either the Cherohala or the Dragon. Unless you are really wanting to take the long way around and go south out of Knoxville down US-441/ US-19 through Gatlinburg and then NC-28 back over to 143 to Robbinsville.

Just let me know. The shortest route will be to go 336(6 mile road) to Sixmile and then picking up Montvale Road to Happy Valley Road east. If you can pick up the Foothills Parkway then that would be quicker. But if not follow it all the way down to US-129. Then turn left and go south down US-129 to Robbinsville.

If you look at where Housley Drive comes into US-129 in Calderwood that is where the Dragon pretty much starts.

Just let me know which way you wanna go. All ways involve twisties and curves. Cherohala Skyway has no fuel stops. US-441 (Smokey Mountain Parkway) has no fuel stops once you leave Gatlinburg until you get to Cherokee.

I didn't intend to avoid the Dragon. I thought I had hit the roads you suggested, but I'll try again.

I did a few calculations and if we can make it to Bloomington, Ind. that would be about 761 mi.

Don't know if this will help cuz I am a bit more low tech than you guys but I tried to figure a general plan for gas & rest stops at apporx. 160 to 180 mi.
For Clint and I
STC to Eau Claire 162 mi. 2:48

Eau Claire to Oakdale 85.9 mi. 1:27
meet Rick and Adam

Oak Dale, Wi to Rockford, Il 161 mi 2:39

Rockford, Il to Champaigne, Il 183 mi 3:00

Champaigne, Il to Bloomington, Ind 169 mi 2:55

Just thought I would look at a general idea of where to land.

Works fo me. Chances are, though, that we'll have to cut one segment short for one reason or another and everything will shift. No big deal. We aren't crossing the desert, after all.

Default Lexington, Ky

Lexington, Ky. Where I'd like to meet Exit I-75 S. Turn right on to State Route 60(Winchester Rd), Take first right on Elkhorn rd to SuperAmerica. I'll be there. ~300yrds.

As for distances between gas stops, I have considerably less range after I meet up with you. Like I stated before, I'll need to start looking for gas around the 120 mile mark. I will try to get a more exact distance this weekend. I'm leaning to the safe side to be sure.

Approx. what time start do you guys have in mind on 5/31 from Bloomington??
Kinda important to me. It'll determine how far I need to make it the night before.

After the long day we will have on Friday, my vote would be for a 8:00 start on Sat.

That should put us at your meet up point between 11:00 and noon
