Well,, you know. You can never ride enough twisty roads. We need to figure out when is the best time for Tim to come up here and ride the twisties with us. Let me know if you want to come up here. I will find the time off to go ride them with you if you come up.

What was that saying from that movie... "If you ride it,,they will come."

Ok that sounds bad. Just let me know if you wanna come up here and ride 318 different curves one time versus riding one curve 318 times.

STP gets excited pretty easy, you should have seen him last year when we asked him to go across the street and take a picture of the group up on the balcony, I had to look away when he started stripping right there on the sidewalk in downtown Gatlinburg.

That was funny though!!!

Hey I got a chance to meet cms58 today. Nice guy. He is going to see what strings he can pull to make the trip up there for the weekend with us. Hopefully he can make it too.

OK, so I'm still waiting on my new counter shaft sprocket to get here, but I opened the box with the new chain in it today, and found that the master link is the rivet style, the ones that are permanent. I have always had chains that have a removable master link, so I've never messed with trying to install one of these, and I'm not quite sure how I'm supposed to mushroom the end of the rivet.

Have any of you guys ever worked with one of these? I know they sell a tool for it, but I didn't want to spend another $100, and anyway, I hear they break pretty easy.

I'm thinking I might be better off just buying one of the removable master links and putting that on.

So do we have roomie #5 yet? I have not seen anyone, Scott or ShonR chime in. Would be nice to fill that spot if possible.

Is that the same as the factory unit? I think the one on my Wee has the non-removeable link style. When it reaches its max stretch limit I am supposed to dispose of it and get a new one.

Yes, but they don't come already connected together, you have to install the master link and rivit the pins in place.

If it was an endless chain (like a belt) you would have to take the swingarm off to get the chain on.

Once you mushroom the ends of the rivits, the master link should end up looking just like all the rest of the links.

My chain tool is good for taking chains appart, but it takes a different tool to rivit them back together so I may just get one (and a spare) of the removable master links.

Thanks, if it comes to that, I'll just run my loud a$$ed Road King up there and get it from you in person.

OK, I'll just run my stock (Quiet) DR 650 up there so Clint can test ride it.

Truth be told, the Road King isn't all that loud.

I'm planning to hold on to my room, unfortunately. I *might* have a gf with me She is getting back from her vacation the day I plan to leave. If she's still up for it, I'll have company.

Cool!!! Give me a buzz and let me know. I plan on being on the road by 8:00 am. Make sure you check out the trailer to see if it is road worthy. Alot of people don't think about the condition of their trailers until it is too late and they are on the side of the road scratching their heads.

Cool!!! Good deal. I spoke with my brother and he said to bring some Gumbo or some etouffee along.

Let me know the outcome and we will work out the details as to where to meet and all Saturday morning.

Chris, I've lost track. Is this a one day visit for you, or are you staying with us?
