Default Rustic Routes

I just heard about a game they are playing in Wisconsin, it's called Rustic Routes, from what little I know of it, the game is to have your picture (you and or your bike) taken by as many of the states Rustic Routes signs as you can in one year, if you get a certan number, you get a Wisconsin state Rustic Routes Patch.

I got my first two today.http://webmail.aol.com/35304/aol/en-...+Mail&partId=5 http://webmail.aol.com/35304/aol/en-...+Mail&partId=6

Rustic Roads - Wisconsin Department of Transportation Here's a link to more info.

I could play, there's at least 2 of them within 20 miles of where I live.

Probably 3 now that I think of it.

1) Holy hill, quite scenic
2) southeast of Fon Du Lac, there's another.
3) don't know, there are a bunch of them around here.

I like this game, though.

Just remember, they have to have the sign to qualify.

What, you were out today?

Yeah it was a nice day but my bike is still in storage. Too much grit and way too much salt still on the roads by me. But today I did put together a list of parts that I'll order tomorrow and have the dealer get the bike out of storage next week.

The Rustic Roads are really kinda neat and I'll be hitting a quite a few this season. It will give me something to do besides ride in circles around Waukesha for 5000 miles like I did last summer. Maybe some MJers in the Milwaukee area will be up for a few of these too.

that looks as though it would be interesting to do. I've driven most of the ones in vernon and polk county with the car.

There are a number of cool "rallies" like that in Minnesota. One involves finding all the Saints (towns with saint names). I might take that one on.

I'm jealous, I grew up in Beloit but left after high school. Wish I was closer to do the Rustic Roads Program with y'all. Enjoy ! and hope you update us.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I wish we had roads identified like that here. For us, it's word of mouth.

for those of us who live here, for every road that's listed as "rustic" I can find you 2 - 3 more in the vicinity that never got listed as such.

Playing up the tourism; we gots to do something, the businesses are moving out.

Jim, I posted this earlier (post #4), you remember, that's the post you skipped when you were relighting the bong,

Basically it says you get a patch if you post pictures of you and or your bike by 10 or more of the road signs.

I can put it up with all my other goofy earned certificates.

10, that's a good number. 3 - 4 of those being close by, the other ones will take some work.

But I make three pilgrimages nearly every year.
1) Iola car show (about halfway between Appleton and Stevens Point)
2) The baraboo old tractor/equipment show. The biggest of it's kind in the state, the club owns something like 125 acres.
3) the Amherst energy show - not so often, but every now and then.

btw, I wasn't relighting the bong, I was working with polyurethane. The water based stuff that requires 24 coats to look good and last.

This weekend is really gunna suck in Wisconsin, but next week is suppose to be looking up. Anyone want to get some of these roads under our belt next weekend? April 19-20. That is also the date for the flood run, so hopefully we could have the roads to ourselves while all the other bikes get into parade formation heading south!

Take your pick! I was thinking of roads in the NW region. SW isn't to far for me though...
