Anyone up for a ride Saturday morning? I'm over here in Irving, I'll check the thread later. Nothing planned yet, but we could head west or south.

Once again work is getting in the way of recreation. I must fix that. Next week I can get away.

Try these,

820 to Boat Club Rd and ride boat club all the way to Newark....take a right and follow 287 N to 156. 156 N to 407 in Justin...407 to 377 S, 377 to 1171 E to Flowermound.

Also 377 S to Granbury and Granbury to Dublin, Hico, Stevenville and Glen Rose.

Enjoy

Dude, we have to do that some day. About two weeks ago I ran Boat Club from 199 out past where Boat Club splits and 1220 continues. I think I stopped on Pened Road for a bit, turned around and came back. That looks like some nice riding country up there.

The only probelmo is it's real short.....but the combination of several roads is killer. Anytime you have time just drop me a like Brian and we are GONE...

The best road I know is:
FM 157 south from Mansfield to Venus. Its a really twisty road thats pretty smooth. Kind of short though - only 10 miles
Don't stop in Venus. Continue on 157 to Maypearl and take a right on FM 916 to Granview. In Grandview you can head back home on I-35W or continue on 916 to Rio Vista. Or take FM 4 up to Cleburne and Granbury. Continue on 4 for some fantastic twisties between Santo and Palo Pinto. Another great twisty road is FM 51 west of Glen Rose. You'll find great riding on just about any FM southwest of DFW.

I've been on 4, 51, 56, 157, 205, 309, 310, 904, 916, and a lot of the county roads in that neck of the woods. Some of them have water crossings, very slick water crossings. All are great fun a good place to navagate to is to the town of West they have killer Polish food there. When I can afford a GPS I plan on exploring that area alot.

I HATE water crossings!! I was riding in Glen Rose a few months ago and a water crossing washed the bike out from under me. I went down, my girlfriend went down and the couple following us went down too. The SV is way to light to be doing that in. It took 3 people to pick it up and push it to dry road b/c the current was trying to push the bike into the Paluxy!
