Default Some advice from Colorado riders

I'm planning a ride from the Los Angeles area to Colorado in late June with my son. We're going to Iron Butt it straight to Denver on the freeway, then take our time returning, camping and site seeing. I know I want to check out the Four Corners area.

I'd like some advice on what I can expect regarding weather and road conditions in late June. Keep in mind after the first night, I plan on camping. Also any info on good rides would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

From my trip into the four-corners area mid June 2007 above 6500ft it can {and did} get cold. Cortez,
Colorado had 38* f the morning we got up there.

I'd ride the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park loop again, but only if you can get ahead of tourist traffic. Winnebagos at 20 mph ruined it for me. My buddy got a ticket for passing on DY.

Default Advice from Colorado riders

Uncle B, that was my biggest concern considering I was thinking of tent camping. I figured it was still cold at night at those elevations. I'm looking at the Kamping Kabins by KOA as an alternative.

Rowdy, can you give me more specific routes you enjoyed? My time is more limited than I wished it would be. Basically I'm heading southwest from Denver. Once I hit Flagstaff/Williams, AZ, my last day will be straight home from there.

Colorado riders, I'd still like to hear from you locals. I'm wanting to make some reservations soon.
