Default DFW Toy Run-Sun.,Dec.16

I was planning to do this ride, if the weather is tolerable. Any local Forum riders want to try and hook up? We could pick a place to meet, then go on into the staging area. I haven't decided if I'll go to Fort Worth again, or try Grapevine this time. Here's a linky... THE BIG TEXAS TOY RUN

There was reported to be in excess of 60,000 bikes last year...

Rode last year, but can't go this year because I have to be at a graduation ceremony that weekend and it's out of town.

Ft. Worth would be preferable to me.

Which way do you come into town? I'm by Kennedale and Forest Hill, where 20 and 820 run together. From here, I take 287 straight over to downtown. There's an IHOP at Little Road & 20, here. More places west on 20 & 30, if you go in that way.

I went out to Weatherford for the Parker County Toy Run yesterday. It was OK, maybe 150 bikes paraded through downtown. Nearly every air-cooled bike could not complete the parade route due to heat, japs and hd alike. It was a rather cold overcast day, and the group ride afterwards went down toward Stephenville. Being somewhat underdressed because of the wrong weather reports, I peeled off after 30 miles or so.

As far as the parade went, countless lives must surely have been saved, considering the numbers of loud pipes constantly revving...
It was a walking-speed off-balance wobbly fry the clutch type of event, all the way around main street and the courthouse square.

Looking forward to possible sunny weather for the DFW run this Sunday. May only be fifty degrees, though. Someone who's coming in give a holler, and I'll try to make it to a rally point to meet up.

Cool. I know the feeling...My Dad went into ICU by ambulance Friday morning, my water heater burst at 3am Saturday morning, etc.

It's now 2am, but I've dug out every piece of leather I own to wear this morning. It won't get out of the thirties till noon, I'd bet. Probably 28 going over there...

I'll get some pics to share. Take care.

Default Great Job Guys-Too bad I had to work

Tens of thousands of motorcycles hit the open road on Sunday to bring toys to underprivileged children.

More than 90,000 riders left simultaneously from Dallas, Grapevine and Fort Worth as part of the Big Texas Toy Run. They dropped presents off at the Arlington Convention Center.

The group said it hopes to raise more than $2 million worth of toys this year
