| I'm planning on doing a ride Thanksgiving morning in the SoCal area (no specifics yet), and want to put it out there to see if any forum members would be interested in joining. Wookie has already expressed interest. I'm sure at least one of my brothers will do it also. It would be early, because I have to get home in enough time to prepare the holiday meal and all. I'm thinking probably north / northeast of LA, but open to any suggestions. Anyone interested, please let me know. Also give any ideas for routes that you may have. |

| I'm in. Possible routes I've been thinking about include: Santiago Canyon Angeles Crest Highway Cruising on PCH, either northbound (to Malibu) or southbound (to Dana Point) Santa Monica Mountains ....

| Angeles Crest Highway sounds good to me. Isn't that in your neck of the woods too? Check out Hammerpetes thread on some really good sounding rides to the south. This Thanksgiving thing needs to be kind of a shorter ride, but we'll need to set up a day long thing soon too. Come on SoCal riders, we need some more to join us on this one. Btw, my brother will be joining us on his M50, and possibly a guy from my work too. |

Sounds strange but I guess it's our way of bringing in the holiday season for all the people in our lives!!!!

| I rode Rim of the World one night in early January this year (takes me about 45 miles to get there). It was fine except it's pretty windy up there. And with the recent fire in that area, I'm not sure about the condition there. Angeles Crest Hwy (ACH) is about 35 miles from where I live. If we meet up at the Shell gas station at the foothill ~8 AM, we should be able to make it to Newcombs by 9 AM. Have a quick breakfast and get back to the gas station by 11 AM. I've done Route 2 in Hammer's post, possibly Route 3 as well. I'm relatively available all day Thanksgiving Day because I've no Turkey duties. So I can go either way....

| I had the wrong road in mind when I said the Angeles Crest Hwy. Although I'm pretty free most of the day, my brother has to get back to his kids, so I need a little shorter route. We did this one last year, and it was good: N. Mountain Ave. off the I10 towards Mount Baldy to Mt Baldy Rd. to Glendora Ridge Rd. to Glendora Mountain Rd. and back to the I10 I think in Glendora. Glendora Ridge Rd. gets closed at some time during the winter, but it should be open still at this time. If there's anyone besides Wookie interested, we'd love to have you join us. Let's plan a meet on the NE corner of N. Mountain Ave and W. Foothill Blvd. It's looks like it's about 6 or 7 blocks from the I10 freeway. There's some sort of shopping center there that looks like easy access. Meet time by 8:00am with KSU at 8:15am. |

| I am familiar with this route. Yeah, I can do it. Two things we might need to watch out for, the fog and the fact that Glendora Ridge Road is not a double-yellow-lined road.

| It has been pretty foggy lately. I thought I heard we were in for some more Santa Ana winds that might blow that out tho? Anyhow, I hope the skies are clear enough, and I look forward to meeting you Wookie. |

| Likewise, the honor is all mine. This is one of those rare occasions in which I'd actually welcome the Santa Ana wind...
