Default ninja 250 top speed???

I ride a suzuki GZ 250 right now. It a fun ride but at 5'11" and 200 pounds I can only cruze at around 65mph and 72 mph going down hill with the wind to my back. But Im still drawn to 250's. I guess because of the great gas milage and the light weight. My question is what kind of cruizing speed do you think i could get out of a ninja 250? what about top speed?

gndeas the Ninja 250 has a top speed just above 100 mph (100 - 105mph) and will do freeways all day long if you want it to. Since you're already used to a 250 and their general size and weight the extra power of the Ninja should be quite welcome.

The 100mph mark is about right.

I weigh 220lbs and I got a 250 Ninja upto 105 (indicated). It will cruise at highway speeds all day long. Fun little bike!

Check out the following link for more info on the Ninja 250.

Have you put a 16T front sprocket on your GZ yet?
Do you have a windshield?

The sprocket improves the overall ride and increases the top end a bit.
Stock mine felt like it was about maxed out at 65. With the new sprocket, it feels like there should be quite a bit left. (Haven't tested the top yet though).
A shield should cut down on the wind resistance.

No doubt the Ninja is a good bike...........but at 5'11" and 200, I wonder how it would fit you and how comfortable you would be on a long haul.
DON'T SWITCH WITHOUT A TEST DRIVE !!!!!

Default Intro from Central Florida.

Hi all,
My name is Doc, and I'm new to your forum. I recently purchased an 07 Ninja 250 as a commuter bike. WOW! what a fun bike. I'm used to high rpms because my other bike is a VRod. I seem to be taking the "baby" Ninja more often than originally intended (for work only) though. I guess that means that I need some counseling.
Anyway, Hi, and I look forward to being a part of your group.
Doc

ps. anybody from my area here?

Welcome. Please fill out your profile.

You don't need counseling. You've just discovered a universal truth of motorcycling: There are other bikes than Harleys.
