Default Hi from Cali, with (hopefully) something that could help alot of riders!

Hey guys,

I am a grad student at Stanford University and am working on a really interesting project - a device for motorcycle riders that uses the rotation of your wheels to keep your tires optimally inflated. The devices would also counteract much of the leakage (while riding at about 55mph or above) caused by running over a nail on the highway, although the additional distance you can ride would depend on the severity of the puncture.

There would be two devices per bike, one for each wheel, that you would screw onto the valve stem. Each device is about the size of a $3 stack of quarters. The devices would weigh about 2 oz each, and would come with a counterbalance weight that you would put on the opposite side of the wheel to keep it balanced.

I will be posting a poll in the polls sub-forum (just in case, here is the link as well: surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wlQspx0tMCk3fG7wgd0ung_3d_3d) that will help me make some engineering decisions, and I hope to get you guys to take a minute and answer some quick questions related to your interest in such a product. Also, if you have any suggestions, concerns, or anything of the like, feel free to ask there!

Happy riding,

Brandon
