|  New San Diego rider checking in!
Hey everyone, I've lurked around here for a few days and finally decided to join up. I'm a 33 year old game designer living in San Diego, CA. I don't currently own a motorcycle - In fact, I've never *really* ridden one. Me and my motorcycle history: After moving to California for college I purchased a '78 BMW R80/7 and rebuilt it with the goal of commuting to college in a fuel efficient and fun method. I think I paid ~$700 for it and put another ~$500 into it along with a bunch of sweat equity! Upon completion of the rebuild I toodled onto the little side street by my house - I'd never been on a bike and didnt even know how to shift the darn thing! Fast forward to 10 seconds and 80mph later I decided if I kept it I'd kill myself. So fearing for my life I sold it for $3k (I was shocked at its going price after picking it up for 700) and picked up a 1990 Nissan Sentra and lived to tell the tale. Since then I've wanted to own a bike. It goes in cycles, and I'm back to "very interested " and have signed up for a local safty/beginner rider's course here in San Diego at Palomar College (Starts Friday!) - hopefully I find myself mentally fit to ride this time around.
