Another advantage of getting a smaller displacement bike is that the insurance is cheaper.

I recently got the bike bug myself and bought my very first bike ever. I am really enjoying the ride! First thing I will tell you is definitely take the MSF BRC course, that will teach you so much. I do not know the laws of Florida, but you should always carry proper insurance, if not for yourself, then for others you may potentially cause damage/injury to.

I just got my motorcycling license last Friday and it was very easy. Because I had successfully completed the BRC I was waived form the DMV skills test so all I had to do was take my written test and I was done. The BRC course consisted of 3 hours (on a Thurs evening) in the classroom and 5 hours (on a Sat & Sun) on the course along with 2 hours (on Sat) in the class and I was done. The actually get my license it took me about an hour filling out the paperwork (standing in line), taking the eye test & written test (standing in line), then getting my picture taken and I was done.

Talking about beginner bikes, what is recommended as a good start off bike. I want a crotchrocket style sports bike, like a ninja or gixer. Any good suggestions?
