Default Back in the Saddle After 20 Years

It’s been twenty years since I had to give up riding to raise some kids and do the “dad” thing. Well, the girls are grown and on their own and I’ve returned to the road.

I took the Safety course a month ago (most fun I’ve ever had putting 18 miles on a bike in two days). I came across a 2005 C50 decked with every available option with just 2,900 miles on it…plucked down a check and I’m back in business again.

I’ve logged 927 miles in three weeks, including a 350 round trip to see my daughter. Never knew a seat could be so comfortable. I did order a cruise lock though .

Anyway…I’m an avid homebrewer among my other hobbies. But that one is set aside as long as these Fall days are picture perfect for riding. (I promised myself…not a single beer if there is even a remote chance of hopping on the bike.)

I’m looking forward to searching out some riding clubs in the St. Louis and St. Charles area of Missouri.

I’ve also searched and learned a lot about my new (to me) C50 on this site.

Nice to meet ya’s…keep it safe.

Welcome ! looks like you got a great deal too. Low miles, custom exhaust, windshield, cobra light bar, sissy bar, bags, .... wow ! great deal for the money.

PS..do I see that your light bar is bent way down..pointing at the ground? Interference with the windshield?

Nah...it's just an optical illusion with the front wheel turned that way.

They're actually aligned perfectly with the headlight. I jut ordered a pair of GE 4411 Sealed Beam Tractor Lights to replace the OEM assembly. Those lights are great...but prone to burning out too often.

Here's a little better shot that shows the light alignment.

There seems to be alot of guys coming back to riding after 20-25yr absense. You know it's possible to raise a family and ride!

Nice looking bike.
