Default new here

hey wassup everyone? Im paul and own a 1993 Suzuki RM250. im 16 yrs old and been riding for 10yrs. just wanted to drop in to learn some new things bout this bike specifically and communicate with others in the same interest.

guess ill go ahead and ask this question.

does anyone know how much fork oil is needed in a 1993 Rm250 front forks? like my forks go down but there not very quick at coming back up, but the forks are stiff when trying to push them down... so im guessing they are low on oil. and does anyone know how to add oil to these forks?

thanks

I am not too familiar w/ the '93, but I would guess this, assuming it has the adjustments.

Fork hard going down=compression set too high.
Fork coming back slow=rebound too stiff

Most forks have the compression adjustment on the bottom of the leg, turn it counter clockwise.
Same for rebound, counter clockwise. It's on top of the fork.

If it was fairly low on oil, it would be springy both ways. If it was leaking oil, you will see the results on the fork leg or around the seals.
Did this just start happening, or has it always done it? How long have you owned the bike?

ive had the bike for 3month now, i was getting the adjustments set for my liking and when i was adjusting my front the rebound all the sudden got crapy and all i did was set my s-h to harder on the top of the forks, closest to handlebars

ohh and my dads bike is a suzuki 1400 intruder, just thought i would say that lol
