Default Hello there fellow riders, another new guy, new old guy

I've been lurking around the site for awhile and decided to join. Great forum you have going. Here' my story.
Bought myself a used motorcycle early this spring. It sure is great to be back on two wheels again. I have'nt owned a bike prior to this one since 1992. I started out on a used Honda CX500 (kinda doggy), shortly after that I got myself a used Honda CB 650 (Hello inline 4!!!), and after that a used Yamaha XS850 triple, which I crashed after about 6 months. I was not seriously injured but I was lucky on that. Now, back to the future....
This year, I guess it was in March, I was thinking that it would really be sweet to get myself back on a motorcycle because I always loved riding the bikes that I had before and also because of the price of gas. I ended up finding a very cherry 82 GS1100E with only 14K (it's now up to 16K) on the clock for a real nice price. The previous owner was the original owner and also a hell of a nice guy who had maintained this motorcycle with loving care. And it showed. I was lucky to find it before someone else did.
It's the bike I always wanted when I was 23 but could never seem to be able to get. So far this is the biggest and fastest motorcycle that I've owned and it's providing me with much enjoyment so far over the summer. I've done a few small mods mostly just to get the machine looking and sounding the way I remember seeing them on the street when I was younger. 4-1 exhaust, dyno-jet stage 1, K & N filter.
Sooner or later when the timing is right, I'm thinking about a new Bandit 1250, but for now my old 1100E is working out just fine.

Rich

Awesome bike, Rich. You're going to be blown away when you do decide to upgrade. The GSE and the GSF are worlds apart in terms of suspension and power.

Talking Introducing myself. Newbie!

Newbie - i saw this thread right after I posted. Sorry!

Hi All. I found great info in these forums and had to join up. I am from Sarasota, FL. I just bought a 2006 Suzuki M-50. I am really enjoying it. Just had saddle bags put on, got to have them. Got some Hard Krome 3" Staggered Straights coming. I can wait for that!. Been loving riding and am so glad to be doing it again.

Thanks for all the great info and I am sure I will be talking to some of you.

Ride safe!

Default Hello from S Carolina

New member to this forum, I'm on the Airheads Beemer forum also. Just purchased a 2006 Suzuki V strom DL 1000, have a 84 BMW R65 and 82 BMW R100. The R100 is going on the block soon as I sure don't need 2 1000cc bikes. Moved here recently from the east coast of Florida. Sure enjoying riding on roads that go up and down and side to side.

New member from Canada. I still ride my first, and only, street bike. It's 26 years old, and I'm older than that!

hi!
I'm a total newbie, and just doing a lot of research on cycles. I'm taking a motorcycle training course, and will hopefully get my first bike shortly thereafter. I appreciate all of the advice and input here!

hey geoff...sorry for the delayed response! so, when I say 'newbie', I'm REALLY a newbie. I'm gonna take a motorcycle safety course, and get a bike after that. to better answer your question, I would like a sportbike, but I also understand I need to graduate to that level in time...
