Hello, names pretzel, new here, building a ruup trike powered with a suzuki 850.
Question is it possible to use existing rearend w/reverse on a shaft drive tranny?
Would I be able to modify the final drive to fit? Anyone welcome to reply.
Thanx

There is a test thread. Try it there, usually one of the Mods will check in to help when you have a problem.

Hey I just picked up a 93 CBR600 F2 and I am new to the motorcycle world. I thought that this would be a good way to learn the ins and outs of it.

Hi tj4ndirish and

There is a wealth of information around here ... sometimes you need to blow away some cobwebs to find it.

Here's the Cliff's Notes version of our "newbie" advice:

1) Take the MSF course (Motorcycle Safety Foundation)

2) Look for a used bike to begin with - 35-40 horsepower is more than enough - and use the money you save on the bike to get the best gear (helmet, jacket, spine protector, gloves, pants and boots) along with the best insurance you can afford.

3) Start out riding (wearing full gear) in a parking lot, away from any traffic. Practice the slow-speed maneuvers and get comfortable with the controls (clutch, brakes, turn signals, gear shift, etc.) before you try to enter traffic.

4) Don't ride with others unless they are willing to accept your level of experience. Don't try to keep up with others - ride your own ride.

5) Learn how to maintain your bike, too. At least the basic stuff - tightening bolts to specification, changing the oil/filter or spark plugs, etc.

Hi,

Well I am a newbie to this site and to riding on the front half of a motorcycle. Spent most of my life as a passenger and decided that it was time to move up front. It is a lot scarier and harder than I ever thought. I agonized over what bike to buy and landed on a Kawasaki ZZR250, I hope it is not too much for me. I would love to hear from others who have dealt with the fear part of learning. I love bikes and don't want to give up, I don't plan on giving up. Yes I have taken the course and did badly so I decided that I needed to practice because there was too much to learn at the pace they were teaching. And yes, as my name implies, I am in the granny stage of life though at the younger end of that designation. I would like to find beginning riders in the Ottawa area to go out and practice with. Any ideas on another forum I could join for that purpose?

Hello all, 1st post and wanted to say hello to all. I have been riding for around 18 yrs. First bike was a 91' 250 Nighthawk, then had CR 125, then a 87' Supermagna, then a 93' CBR 900RR, currently, I don't have a bike right now, because of lil one, but she's getting old enough that I can start riding again. Currently looking for a cruiser type bike, since I dont' need all that speed nowadays, in my older yrs. LOL Any info on what's out there would be greatly appreciated, I've looked at the new Suzuki M109, I like the look and it would suit my need, or the Yamaha Warrior, but if I can, I would like to have a Harley too, so whatever comes around to me first.......Thanks again!!

Hello from newbie here. Can anyone direct to where I might find help with the below listed question?
I have an 83 Suzuki GS450GA. It has worked fine for years but now was driving down the road and suddenly stopped and could not be jumped. Put in a new battery and ran for a few days and then suddenly stopped. It continues to drain down the battery. I can keep it running with a starter hooked up or a new battery for a while but that is all. I no about zilch about repairing an electrical problem or where the alternator and the other important items are on the bike. Can anyone help?

Hello All....Just wanted to say hello and say how wonderful i think this forum is. I just purchased a new 2006 (leftover) blue M50 for what i consider a deal borderline illegal =]

When investigating different Midweight Cruisers, this forum and this community sealed the deal...then i fell in love when i sat on it.

Only have 150 miles so far, but i plan on using a lot of the tools and tricks i learned on the posts here to enhance the performance and my riding pleasure.
