I'm having an awful thought.
Was it here that I was supposed to introduce myself?
If so, does this mean that the record-winner-thread was just a BIG mistake?

ciao, Janis

Hello from another newbie.

I just bought (but haven't picked up) my first bike in 17 years. I consider myself a newbie rider all over again. I got a 2003 Savage. Since I haven't been "endorsed" in a long time and I now live in a whole different part of the country than I used to, I'm taking the MSR all over again this weekend and going to get my permit, as though I've never ridden before.

I am all the way excited about my new bike and all I can do is talk about it until I pick it up this weekend.

Glad to have yet another female rider on the forum. Red, SuzukiGirl, Janis, your group got a little bigger.

Bluejeans!!!

As TL said - the number of women on this board is growing, and that can only be for the best!

I can understand the way you feel. Anticipation brings great feelings sometimes. I mean, when we are waiting for something we want eagerly (could be a date with a man we like, or a bike, or a baby hehehe), we have that mixture of feelings that are so intense that we remember them even if the actual thing turns up being different from what we expected. I think anticipation is great and has its own life (different from living the real thing)
<I hope what I wrote makes sense>

I also think it's fantastic that you decided to buy a bike after all those years you didn't drive. I feel it like a kind of vital sign

Welcome Beth!

ciao, Janis

Yep Janis, you made perfect sense! I am so excited that I almost can't think about my bike or my chest gets tight and I can't breathe...but on the other hand, it's a fun feeling! Every night when I go to sleep, I see myself on my new bike and I get positively giddy!

We have quite a few women riders here in Maine and I've already met a new friend to ride with (once I'm road ready).

All I can think about right now is where I want to go first, and then next, and then next...Maine is such a beautiful state with lots of relatively untraffic'd roads to ride on.

Welcome!

What are you riding?

My best advice, as another newbie...take it easy and listen to the advice of more skilled riders. The folks on this forum have helped me ALOT! If you haven't taken the MSF course...do it right away. That's the best start you can get.

I am in law school and so I thought it only appropriate to get killed on a motorcycle. I ended up buying a GV1200. It's very rare so anyone else on here who happens to know about them, lemme know. Also, parts are damn hard to come by.

I know that's WAY too much bike for a newbie, but it's not like I'm going to sell her. So I will learn as I can.

Thanks for the site.

hey everyone.
1st post here.
Will be in iraq for the next year so I figured if I can't ride, then I'll just talk about it!
Planning on getting a nekid SV once I get back. Until then I'll just dream about it.

yet another noob here. well i dont have a bike yet. I am buying a 2002 blue SV650S from my fraternity brother. It's in perfect shape and has 4700 miles on her. I simply cannot wait to get my hands on it. I am saving up as we speak and will be buying it when the snow thaws after my bday in march.

Hola everyone. My name's Jayson, and I guess this is the part where I introduce myself. I have a pair of 1992 Katana 600s. Full gear is good. I live in NM, so expect me to point and laugh when everyone packs up for the winter Freakinout sent me this way.
