Thanks Kay! I appreciate the understanding - I'm about 5' even. Part of the problem, is that its a hydrolic clutch, and not adjustable at the lever - best option is replacing it. I'll figure something out.

Inspiron - I really like the M50 - and keeping it for a while. We live in the Colorado foothills, and fuel inj. is a plus. was looking at the Honda Aero, but for about the same $$ I can get an M50. I like the looks of the M50 too.

So I've made my decision on a bike, just need to make it fit. What's the difference between moding it to start and moding it 3 months from now???

Burnerman, Kay. MidnightD, I was told you can try to bend the clutch lever closer since adjusting them isn't enough. dex'hopeyournotasquid'1000, Arkie54, outdoorextermist19, cra racer, Marduk, slip69.

Default new member intro

Small intro - Don't need much attention to function!
Used to ride bikes - kawasakis and ducatis
had a (few) major accidents, lot of surgery, and haven't really ridden except the odd time here and there.
Sister has a dragstar, her partner has a FJ1200, and I have been borrowing their bikes a lot lately.
Wife relented, and so I sold the odd old car I had lying around, and today bought a new M50.
Don't need to be fast anymore, but do miss the solitude of riding.
I run a new car dealership during the day, so this kind of stress relief is much cheaper than alcohol, pharmaceuticals or a mistress.
Not young anymore, but still very definitely alive.

C50's are thin on the ground here, actually found a professional salesperson who brought a M50 to me, and bought it on the spot.
The low prices here (in proportion) have made them good sellers. as a guide, the Vulcan VN900 is about 3k dearer.

The two things that helped decide on the M50 were.
Availability, and NO SPOKED WHEELS.
don't like cleaning them, and don't trust them long term. Am yet to see anyone ever maintaining spokes!.

So, pick it up next week, and it will get some road time - probably lots!.

MidnightD, my GSX is also hydraulic but I just got it adjusted! hmmm...not much of a mechanic so now I'm confused. Can anyone help out?
So you are 5ft even? I guess I'm still one of the shortest here....(sob)

Uncle B, yes my fingers are a wee-bit (in fact VERY) short compared to guys' fingers, I guess and it requires a lot more strength to work with the clutches.
But it kind of annoys me to think that I can't ride the bike that I like simply because I don't have enough height. So that makes you try harder 'coz with a leeeeeettle bit of skill, I believe you can ride. Well, it's really the stopping that scares me. I'm OK as long as I'm moving. (laugh)

Hey folks.
The names Nate. I've been riding again for about 2 years now.
Just found the board a few weeks ago. It seems to be a nice place and the info is good. Glad I found the place.
Riding an 06 C90T Boulevard, PowerCommander, K&N air filter, Hard Krome 3 inch big straight pipes and more to go. Now if it will just warm up in Arkansas I can ride more.

Thumbs up Bisket 'n' Virginia

Just want to say hello to all you cycle enthusiast. I had a Suzuki GS750 back in '72 and loved riding it while in USAF at Altus AFB, Altus, OK. a few decades back. I've never lost my love to ride just got familied and careered. I'm now 54 y/o and live in Fredericksburg, Va. since '75 and travel extensively as field engineer working on gas turbine powerplants. I'm presently in Saudi Arabia when I came across the M. Forum. I purchased a 2006 1600 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad in Oct 05 during an R&R trip home. I'm still getting use to riding my new crusier as I have had limited time at home recently to cruise. I would love to communicate with enthusiast especially the nomad riders but all and any are welcomed. If your from Va. give me a holler and maybe we can meet and ride the winds. Good day to all and ride on and live free!!!!!

Hi to those who are new! (I am new here too!)
Hello, Sandra! I lived in Singapore for a couple of years and LOVED it! It is still one of my favorite countries. In fact, my hubby is in Singapore now on business and will be coming back tomorrow. It must be hot to ride in your country!!

Thumbs up new member

Just signed up and I am excited to tap the knowledge of the membership. I used to ride in college, a honda 350 road bike, I put over 30,000 miles on the bike, but then sold it and didn't ride again for the next 35 years. I was into hotrodding with a 23 Ford t bucket with 450 horsepower. After a decade, I decided to get back into biking so I bought a 650 VStar classic. A great small cruiser that I outgrew in about seven months so I bought a midnight star siverado 1700 cc and it is awesome. I am teaching my wife to ride the 650 so we can now cruise together. Thanks for the forum of ideas and I look forward to visiting often.

Default 97 RM-250 troubles

I recently bought a 97-RM250 not running, I had it checked out at a local dealer shop and they said the cdi was cooked and the kill switch, I replaced both and still no sparky, upon further inspection it looks like someone has removed the flywheel and checked the stator has anyone dealt with a similar issue on these bikes?????????

Ahaha. LOTS of countries. In fact I have lived in the US (NY), Malaysia, Singapore, England (London) and Australia (Canberra). So I speak both American and British English. Funny thing is, depending on who I am talking to, my English automatically switches. (LOL)

Oh, and countries I have visited; Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, New Zealand, France, Spain, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Bahrain, Canada, Pueto Rico...did I miss any country???

Smile New to Board!

Hello...my name is Leucey real name (Tina).
I have been riding a little over two years! My first bike was a 2004 Deuce. My second bike is now a 2006 Cobalt/White Deluxe! My husband rides as well. Tomorrow we are going to Lakewood Fairgrounds in Atlanta GA to the ABATE swap meet. This is the last event ever at the Lakewood Fairgrounds! Not sure what will happen to the property after that.
