Well, I think I've got the general intent... although I'm still slooooooowly learning kanji (wish I had thought to study Japanese about 20+ years ago, might have been easier for my brain to asborb ).. I do better with Keitai even if it does take 3 times as long to write the same thing

c50tiger, the kanji means "congratulations on joining" or simply "welcome".
Rice Burner could have responded himself, but since it's Friday night here, I gathered his brains have already sucked up some "sake". Hehe.

Cool

Hi!

I'm planning on buying my first bike next weekend - Suzuki M50. I'm a short gal, so have to get it lowered about 2". Also have to figure out something to do with the hydrolic clutch lever - I can't reach it - ok, well, the tip of my fingers barely brushes it, but no way could I drive in that condition. So, that is my first quest - has anyone had something custom made for that purpose?

Just finished the MSF course yesterday - was told I'm "a natural" - not sure what to think of that...

Hubby bought a Suzuki SV650 yesterday - being delivered Tuesday.

Looking forward to the wealth of knowledge here!

to everyone.

MidnightD, why buy a bike that you need to mod before you can ride it? Have you looked at other models that may be better fitted to your size?

I'm just asking because changing the shape of the handlebars will have an effect on the way the bike handles...

Hi! I'm a short gal too (4ft9) so I know what you mean. Inspiron, I don't think it's a handle bar matter. The clutch lever is simply a bit too far and difficult to reach when you don't have hands that are big enough.

I had them moved closer to the handle bar. Usually all bikes will have a little room for adjustment and you can actually have it moved closer. Just ask the dealer and he can do it for you.

If that is still not close enough, well you just need to get used to it, which usually you will. But you'll find that your left hand will get VERY tired after a long ride, but again, as you get used to the machine your left hand will get stronger and you'll be able to manage it.

Hope I can be of some help as I've gone through most of what you are and will be experiencing.

Good luck!

I don’t think that it is a matter of the lady’s hands being big enough as it is their fingers are a wee-bit short to comfortably extend over the clutch and break levers.
