Welcome to the latest batch of newcomers...

And Del, great to have another BC'er in the ranks. You've got some great fishing in your back yard.
As opportunity permits, I try to get out and test the Kamloops motto, "A lake a day as long as you stay." Enjoy the forum bud.

Borrowed from this site. What is a Squid? Someone who assumes more risk when riding than the person calling the name thinks is reasonable.—saddlebag at aol.com squid (skwid) n. 1. a motorcyclist who exaggerates his riding ability by attempting dangerous tricks. 2. a motorcyclist who wears grossly inadequate safety gear, typically shorts, T-shirt, and flip-flops. [Naval term for young sailor; typically one on leave with money to spend on a motorcycle. Believed to be an acronym for Stupid, Quick, and Inevitably Dead. Or Super QUick, Inadequately Dressed. Which is why I don't mkut much faith in acronyms as sources of words.] Yes, “squid” is a pejorative term, whether in its original usage for referring to members of the Navy by other members of the armed forces, or in its current usage of referring to those riders of sportbikes of limited talent and overarching recklessness. Should you be concerned that he’ll bust you in the chops? No. He’s wearing sandals, shorts, a T-shirt and baseball cap on backwards: if he tries to punch you, grab the hem of his shirt and pull it over his head. While he’s blinded, stomp on his unprotected feet with your own engineer boot-clad real-motorcyclist feet. Now that he’s hopping around on one foot with his shirt over his head, knock him over, pants him, take his bike for a spin and dump it in a ditch. You’re saving him the trouble of running it into the ditch himself, and a lot of road-rash besides, and you get a ride on a nice bike out of it for your trouble! Take the Squid Self Assessment Test. Or take The Official, Sanctioned DoD Squid Purity Test

hi everyone, my name is Jesse and in about a week i will be purchasing my 1st bike. i figured i would join a forum to keep me motivated on that purchase. im 33 and after years of smooching butt and satisfying sexual fantasies i finally convinced my wife that its ok if i starts riding she's still kinda iffy about it. i just looked at some bikes today and decided im going with a Suzuki 650...damm i forgot the model but its a 2 cylinder sports bike. i look forward to getting useful advice from experince riders in this what appears to be great site

Default A belated hello.

Hi, I signed up last week but I was a bit busy and couldn't introduce myself here.

I'm a female rider from Japan and was directed to this place by Rice Burner. I started riding motorcycles two and a half years ago, and my life has a changed completely! Now I watch the weather forecast VERY deligently (esp. the weekends) and most of my weekends are spent on my motorcycles unless it's raining.

I now visit a lot of places I never had any interest to go, I have a lot of friends that share the same interest too. I just wanted to ride motorcyles but never imagined it would have this kind of effect!

I am now a fullfledged bike freak (laugh) starting off my motorcycles life with a Kawasaki Zephyr 750RS, then a Ducati 999S, a Suzuki scooter and now I am waiting for my new 07 Suzuki GSX-R600 to arrive! (I haven't sold off any of them so I will soon have 4!!! I will also soon need to learn how to ride two at the same time. Maybe go work for a circus.)

Have also started riding on tracks this past couple of months which is why I wanted a new Suzuki. The Ducati would be great but too expensive to practice as I'd be too scared to fall!!

Hope to get to know the people here better. : )

And last but not least, thanks Rice Burner for directing me here!

Lightbulb newbee

I am new to all this right now and am really into bikes and just as much video games. I just played the demo game for the new ATV offroad Fury 4 and the images i got from just playing the PSP version was unreal. I was hoping to find other gamers who share my interest for good games out there because this game is definately worth the time.
