Welcome to the site.

Glad to know you took MSF and got your first fall out of the way without injury.

Thanks, Uncle Bob.

And i can't honestly say that my first fall was without injury. I had a bit of "road rash" where the gravel ate through my jeans like it was tissue paper. Also, my leather gloves got tore up and the heel of my hand paid the price. Nothing some gauze and BandAids couldn't cure.

But, when i see guys in shorts, tank top and no helmet as they cruise along in heavy traffic, i just have to sadly shake my head.

Let me rephrase that to without serious injury ( although roadrash is certainly no fun to live with while it heals ).

Totally agree that you gear up 100%, dress for the crash not for the ride.

well said, the right gear is tha top priority... but i learnt a valuable lesson a few months back. Never ever use damaged equipment no matter how safe you think it is.
i was under-taken by some fool one night and pushed off the road at about 100k's, a few trees lated saw the end of my 98 cbr250rr and almost mine... i made the mistake of using a second hand helmet with a faulty viser clip, the visor ripped off and left me victim to countless branches rocketing towards my face.
Luck was on my side though, with everything else still intact the worst injury was a friction burn on my arm, or maby my pride.

any who...
safe riding to all

Hello, everyone! I'm glad I found this site. I have just purchased a strange little Suzuki that I will probably need tips working on. It is a 1982 GS450A "SUZUKIMATIC". It was kept indoors it's whole life so it is in pretty good shape The best part is that the bike only cost $100 and started up with just new plugs and fresh gas! One great thing about an automatic bike is it makes a great training tool. In the 3 months I've had it, I have taught 4 people how to ride. My main bike is also a classic, a 1975 Honda CB750F Super Sport. I've won 2 trophies w/ it this past year. I am hoping to get this 450 ready for a show or two as well. If anyone has info on it, please let me know. I'll get some pics on here soon!

I don't have any pics of my bike yet, but I found some old Suzuki ads from '82 for it. The bike does not look quite this good but someday it might.

Default I feel like a Freak.

I watch this site daily and have for quite some time.

At first it was for information on oils, tires, maintenance and general questions on my '03 SV-650S. Now you people are like my nightly fix. Thank you for hundreds of laughs. I feel like a peeping tom finally confessing to his actions.

I work in a motorcycle shop, some there call my SV a girls bike, mostly jokingly, mostly. Yes I live in Utah but I am not mormon. Rode 230 miles this week and all of it was @ below freezing. 'letric vest and sled (snowmobile) gear baby. I've put 5k+ miles on my SV since June of last year, I am a freak about my bike, absolutely love it. However I plan on upgrading to the Blue SV-1000 or V-Strom when available this spring to enable longer overnight tour type adventure. Sitting on the fence, and its got sharp posts, but I am definitly sticking with the Suzuki Twin. Not big on talking bout myself but I feel better.

Also, I am forum retarded, H I'm a forum virgin, so if I screw this or any other message up horrribly I appologize, just let me know what I did wrong and I'll try to not repeat.

Thanks Again,
