Cool new here

Hi to all. Just found this site tonight. Looks like a real good place to find help and info for my new project, a 1979 Suzuki GS550 L. Supposed to take delivery of it this week sometime. Looking forward to parking it next to my 1981 Yamaha XJ750 Seca. After it is rebuilt I hope to have the fun of deciding which one to ride to work each morning.

Well bought my first bike, found this web sight been reading alost but never posted on here. Figured I would through this out here now because I know I am going to get slamed for it, but got a 97 GSF1200 for first bike. Would not have gotten it but it was only $500 couldn't pass it up. Already got full Gear, signed up for MSF corse and have empty parking lot to learn on.

Hi All,

I just purchased a new C90SE. I have only ridden it once and so far it seems like a great bike.... but.... it sounds like a sewing machine.

I would like to put a different muffler on....with a sound midway between a Harley and the stock muffler to let me know I really have 1500 CC's underneath me.

Any suggestions from the secondary market?

Tx in advance,

Jim

Give your pipes a chance to breakin, they start to sound better at 4,000 to 5,000 miles.
Lots jump right in and change pipes and then find they do not like them.
Just give it a chance.
Ride safe and enjoy.

Welcome to SBF Pieter and Mr. Jim56.

Jim. This subject surfaces every few weeks. There are currently a few threads addressing pro's/ con's of exhaust mods in the cruiser sections, both in the C and M series. The search feature will allow you to dig even deeper. Enjoy!

Around the same price as the Big Ruckus but not as ride on mower-ish.
The two points of your statement that made any sense to me is the larger displacement and price. The "ride on mower-ish"ness is what I like about the Big Ruckus. It's certainly not for everyone.

(I am a square peg. Always have been, always will be.)

I`m from Namibia and recently bought a 160 Quadrunner. Its second hand, I was told that the previous owner ran through a pile of mud & water with it and so it died. Have problems getting it to start. Cant be to much wrong cause engine was just rebuilt (so I was told). do anyone have some advice on what to do. I`m a beginner with bikes, though I like bikes very much!!!! Please, if anyone has any advise on what to do first, please share. Dont have much money for new parts but any info will be appresiated. !!!THANKS!!! : pieter

Welcome Pieter. Someone should be along to help you out. Maybe you should post your question in the Mechanics corner

Hi Pieter,

Are you in Windhoek or out in the bush somewhere?

My girlfriend was in Namibia about 6 years ago, and really wants to go back again.

Welcome to S-B.com!
