tequilasamurai. Great choice in both ride and colour! Enjoy the forum. You've got lots of reading to get caught up on in the M50 section. Take care and ride safe.

Default Hello Suzuki people!

Hello all. My name is Jason and I am an alco......sorry.. wrong forum. Anyhow I am from Buffalo, NY and ride a Bandit 1200S currently. Glad to find another Suzuki forum especially in the odd place I did. I was bored looking at vbulletin.com and they had a list of boards using their software. You were lsited there. The rest is history.

It was a work ID from before. I have a hard time remembering passwords and stuff so I use it for multiple things and then I don't have to remember a new name.

Well as much as I might hate to admit it, I was one of those starter accidents. A buddy who was teacing me to ride had a Ninja 600R or something similar. I was cruising around the neighborhood with the false sense of security (I had started learning on a 250 Ninja, and was getting very comfortable) and locked up the rear tire, pulled out of the skid, did it again, a couple of times, until I laid it over and hit a curb. All in all I was in fairly good shape and the bike only had faring damage. What I am trying to say is, and I beleive Night Wolf said it, the race set up bikes are just oo touchy for a beginer, like myself.

Bummer. Chalk it up as a learning experience. The ego can heal easier than bones.

I know where you are going Night Wolf.. A guy I work with who rides dirt bikes a bit was all set on an R1 as his first road bike..
I tried to convince him that bikes like these (R1, GSX-R, CBR-RR etc) will not respect him and will do their utmost to kill him at the slightest sign of weakness from him.
He asked me to look it over for him anyway. It had a new headlight and surround. The dealer told me it had hit the back of a tray truck. Being an R1, I presumed it had hit it fast. I asked if they had checked the headstock or the forks or jigged the frame. I got told that they hadn't x-rayed the forks because they hadn't hit the truck itself and the frame looked straight to them.
When I found out the warranty didn't cover the gearbox, I dragged my mate out of there as fast as possible and steered him towards a nice SV650 that I knew of.
He is now the proud owner of his new silver baby and I feel better for having steered him away from being another statistic.
Oh and he is happy with $350 a year insurance instead of $1900 for the R1

Hi Joel. Lets start off with a . Good to have you drop in. For starters, where are you from and what bike are you considering? Beyond that, feel free to look around, and the search feature on this site will help answer any questions that may have been asked before. Still no satisfaction...ask away, in their related categories.

Well, I was considering something good for my (lack of) skill level. I have experience on dirt, nothing really on pavement. So I was looking at the S40. I like it because it reminds me of old British stuff. There are some scooters I am considering as well. (None of which are Suzuki's.)

I am from Phoenix.

well, I'm 5-11, 200+ (it varies).

I was looking at Kymco scoots and the Honda Big Ruckus, but only because it has character. Suzuki doesn't have any mid displacement (250) scoots. I would consider a used Kymco, if I ever ran across one. I would actually prefer a used bike. A cruiser would be good for me, although I eventually want a sportbike.

What about the Burgman 400?
http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products...6/Default.aspx

Around the same price as the Big Ruckus but not as ride on mower-ish.
