Default Helloo!!

Hey everyone! Not sure how I found this website....kinda brainlessly surfing motorcycle website links and stumbled across it. Stuck it in my favorites folder and just kinda lurked for awhile. I'm kinda new at posting in online forums so if I screw up just let me know!
I ride a 2005 S50 that I bought in September. So far I've put almost 4000 miles on it and I've enjoyed every single one.
I look forward to posting here and getting to know everyone!

Default M50 Rider in Arizona

Howdy all, I'm a relatively new rider as I picked up riding in July of '05. Shortly after taking my MSF course I purchased a blue 2005 M50 and now have somewhere over 10,000 miles on it. It's been a great bike and I love riding it. I was recommended to this site by another chap who visits here who found me on www.cycleforums.com. I also post at a few other sites so if you recognize my handle it's probably from the other forums. I'm glad to see I have some fellow M50 brethren here and hope to meet some of you and maybe catch some rides with any of you as well !

Thumbs up

home Jmelvin . Nice to see you finally made it over. It's been awhile since I've been back to CF. Just saw you're posts over there and sent a greeting. Like I did, I'm sure you'll find a wealth of knowledge specific to our machines. Enjoy and keep the rubber side down

Default Just got it.

Hey fellow bikers! I took the MSF class with my wife last fall, went out and bought an old Virago 250 to get me back in the game (after about a 30 year break), sold the bike on eBay for what I paid for it and finally went out and bought a '05 M50. That was 2 days ago. So far, the only riding I've done is to get it home from the dealer. Today the weather is looking up and I plan on doing a little breaking-in - not too easy and not too rough.

Good riding to all!

While I'll fully agree that a GSXR is not a starter bike, I was just wondering why ya'll are giving thehulkxx such a hard time.

Remember...he's a newbi who is trying to decide what kind of bike to get. He just happens to really want a GSXR.

By the way....I'm Tim. Nice to meet you!

Newbies on Gixxers ...................

Been covered a thousand times here, use the search feature.

Usually somebody just looking for somebody to agree with his choice although he's already been told by many that it's not a good idea!

About this time somebody who started on a Gixxer three months ago with all of 1,000 miles experience will chime in and say it's a great idea since he "lived".

According to stats a newbie on a supersport bike has about a one in four chance of having an accident. Take up Russian roulette the odds are better!

John. Quite a collection you have there. Good choice on the M50! Always nice to see another enter the ranks...ride safe and enjoy SBF.

I have no time for useless trolls and IMO that's what this guy is
Sorry to hear you feel like that Night-Wolf. I know thehulkxx. He is one of my employees. While he is a newbi, he does have questions. I recommended him to these forums so he could ask those questions and learn from others who have been doing this alot longer than me. I never dreamed he would be labled a TROLL almost immediatly because of his question. While I understand he wants a GSXR, I know he will probably not get one for his first bike.
I know this because of the conversations I've taken the time to have with him. He's not stupid, nor does he have a death wish.

Please don't get me wrong...I've got alot of respect for you. I've seen your website and have read alot of your posts with interest. But I do think you may be judging this man too soon.

Tim, you haven't been around here long enough to understand the instant TROLL label. Every few weeks, we get another snot-nosed, thick-headed bastage who signs on, and states "I ain't got no experience, but I'm gonna get me a Gixxer and kick your butts." After about the 10th time, it gets old.

Yes, the supersport bikes have their appeal - they look cool. But they are no way designed or intended for beginners. I recently read that more than 80% of the components of a standard Gixxer are IDENTICAL to the racing bike. If you take a Gixxer out of the showroom, remove the blinkers, tape up the lights, and mount some slicks, an experienced racer can ride a competitive race against track bikes.

Any bike with that much "racing blood" will be dangerous in the hands of a beginner.

That said, most of the snot-nosed, thick-headed bastages who sign on don't want to hear this - their intent is to either find someone who tells them what they want to hear (ignoring what the other 99.9% of the people are screaming), or they just want to stir up the pot and try to start a flame war.

If you know this kid, and you can talk some sense into him, both of you are welcome here on the forum. There is a wealth of information here ... read, learn, ask and participate!
