Hi everyone. I bought my first bike 2 weeks ago (2003 Savage 650) after taking the MSF course last month. Been on the back of street bikes most of my life and rode some dirt when I was young. This is a whole different world. I got out of the neighbor hood and out on the open road for the first time today. After it got a little warm I had trouble with first at every stop. Thanks to your forums, I feel a little better about it. Seems every one says the same thing. Down shift all the way to first b4 completely stopping. I never had the problem when I was practicing around the neighbor hood, but I guess on the faster roads I wasn’t paying any attention. And I was trying to sit at traffic lights in neutral, so I never went to first. Now I know to keep it in gear at lights. We have some pretty long lights here in Martin County, but I guess I’m just gonna have to get use to it, for my own safety and to save embarrassment.
Thanks all, nice to be here.

It's been a long time since I welcomed anyone, so...

WELCOME ONE, WELCOME ALL since the last time I welcomed anyone.

Hey Night Wolf, sweet bike you got there! The 650 Strom was actually on the top of my list until I came across the M50. It's still a top contender for a future Sportster replacement.

Happy Holidays.

New to this board. Not a Suzzie, Honda 1974 CB550. There's something in the clasic bikes.

I'm also a Canada Safety Council motorcycle instructor. I've survived sliding my @ss down the pavement after getting cut off, being clipped by a fellow rider while making a left hand turn (he wasn't paying attention) getting rear ended by a drunk driver at a red light, hitting a deer at 60mph and keeping my 1400 Intruder on two wheels and one minor highside (gravel all through a corner) on my Wee Strom this past October on my way to the Dragon.
Welcome aboard Craig. Now we have another forum to argue in. (Just kidding)

Default My girlfriends brother brought rat poison to the party.

Yeah her family does a Christmas gift auction thing. He brought rat poison, and not one of those little boxes either. It was a big BIG box of D-CON RAT POISON. Big chuncks a rat poison. Families. So I'm just checking out this forum here. Seeing what you all are interested in. Lotta messages here in the Intro thread. Anybody read these? I know I don't read new member intro's in other forums...

Uh...anybody else here like taking there slow Suzuki cruiser to the drag strip? Just started going last Summer. Actually, I only went once, but I liked it so much I decided to spend the Winter trying to make my Marauder as fast as possible. Anywho...Hi.

Yup.

Default Hi

Hi,
I found this forum searching for a bike. I'm leaning towards either the bandit1200s, bandit 600s, or an FZ1. Thanks in advance for answers to questions.

Hey, I'm the new guy!! For those of you who don't know me, I'm a member of the Volusiariders site and the LC1500 site on Delphi. I currently own a 2005 C90T with over 14000 mile on it and my better half, The Mistress, has a 2005 Honda shadow aero. We live in Orlando and I am a student a Motorcycle Mechanics School. We enjoy meeting other riders on weekends and going on rides throughout Florida.
