Braada, I can only say that she looks better than you. But, that's not hard.

Twiggy, I removed the pic from my post, you are now single..... euh, you know what I mean.

Hey thanks louis! Very cool! I like it!

I have been riding all weekend. The weather here in AZ has been perfect perfect perfect, and I don't like to waste much time not being on the bike! There are some mountains here, the Chiricahua's that are just gorgeous and have these great rock formations. The BF and I went exploring there, and to some small towns, where we met some, welll......weird people!! Some folks need to get out of their "comfort zone" once in a while!!

Hope everyone had a good biking weekend!

Just got back from a fabulous ride. I notice a little ticking in my engine. Is this norm for suzuki...I don't remember it on my 250. Almost sounds like sticky pistons...knowwhatImean?

Thanks again
You're right I do like the sound of that.

A little ticking sound is prob normal valve/piston noise, best cure is to accelerate if your going fast enough you won't hear it. Now if you had a clack sound I would be worried.

Default Introducing myself

Greetings to all. My thanks to all who have posted. Iv'e gotten alot of food for thought here. I am just winding up my first season mostly on a Kawasaki ZR7. I and now a week into my '03 gixxer 1000 which I put up for the season. My primary goals were to survive my first season and to enjoy the ride, I figure most mistakes would happen in the zone where I learn to ride fast and straight but can't really control the bike. Having passed this season with humility, I enjoyed the ZR7. I didn't really need or intend to buy the Gixxer but I came across a deal to good to pass up. Also my "biking coach" wanted to see me in a better tuned bike as he believes that the beginner is better off with what he terms the best. The Gixxer definitely takes ego control but so far I've not had problems staying away from areas I don't "feel". I respect Her and understand She'll kill me. Quickly. Iv'e stood her up twice accidentally, but that's not why I love her. I love her for the much better conscious contact with the road as I wind the curves than the Kaw. I'm a cornerer as opposed to a straight speed freak. The startight and fast I not my ride and that's what kept me away from the Hyabusu. Don't want to ramble, just introduce myself as I expect to be an active participant to the group with far more questions than experience.

Default Intro Old Rider New to Intruder

This is a terrific forum! What a find!

I was devastated when my Roadstar drowned in hurricane Isabel but the insurance company did help me cope with a fat check. Actually I was trying to sell it cuz I couldn't figure how to attach it to a 5th wheel to get it to Alaska and I was getting real tired of the vibration. I called a friend of mine who had bought a new 1400 shortly after I got my R* but had left it languishing in his garage. After 2 yrs he had only put 2800 on the bike. He let me have it just by paying off his 2yr old loan. What a steal and what a terrific bike! I took it to the shop for a full service (3000 mi or 2 year checkup). It passed all checks perfectly including being kind to my butt for the 1 1/2 hour ride to the shop.

That's how I got the Intruder; this is who I am. I'm a retired Coast Guard officer who has been riding for 35 years give or take. Started on dirt bikes, Yamaha, Honda, Bultaco then on to street, Yamaha mostly Viragos including an 1100 then the Roadstar. I do some photography and PC consulting. I'll load a pic of the Intruder when I get all the new goodies on it. I'm in coastal NC right now and planning on heading back to South Central Alaska as soon as I sell this house.

What am I doing, writing a book? I am glad I found this forum and found the posts I've read friendly, informative and sometimes funny. I look forward to taking part in the discussions.

Default Bikes in AK

Permanently, for sure!! The place is absolutely awesome!

Bikers up there just screw those little hex head screws into their tires. Works best with knobbies though. Actually I cancel my insurance from November to April.

Default stumped...

Gday to all and to all a Gday, My name is Jay, and i have just become a suzie owner... i picked myself up a 90-91 250across (the red kind) And pending a service tommorrow i plan on setting out for my first big ride From Melbourne to Brisbane(not that big).

Quite simply i have no idea what to expect so i am wondering if anyone has any pointers for me. i have ridden bush bashers all my life, just lill scrubber bikes like pre 90's IT DT and RMs.

This is my first real bash at a street bike (after a bumpy start). also i am chasing a pdf version of a workshop Manual for my pretty new bike. any ways i love the site and appreciate all the forums they ar quite informative.

P.s. Any Pointers advice or must brings are well accepted.

Default Noob

Hello everyone... just though i'd drop by and say "Hi".

I don't have a bike yet, but i'm working on getting a Kat 600. *fingers crossed*

I've ridden my roomies '99 SV650 after he and I took a Motorcycle Training Course and got my license. I've got about 3 months of experience under my belt, and yes, i've already laid the bike down once. (hit a patch of gravel while going through a curve) All I got to say is that anyone who doesn't ride will full gear and a helmet is nuts. About $500 in gear saved me a whole lot more in hospital care.

Anyway... enough from me.... love the site.... on with the show...
